Nike just released the winter version of their CHOSEN contest, which they had been saying all along it will include skiers. But would ya look at that! Looks like skiing has been ousted yet again.

Check the site, nothing but snowboarding. http://www.nike.com/nikeos/p/chosen/en_US/?

From the Rules page: "This Contest is open only to individuals who are eighteen (18) through twenty-nine (29) years old at the time of entry and who did not purchase any equipment for the purposes of entering this Contest. Only Snowboard Crews from the below countries can participate. What is a Crew? You and at least one (1) other person, with a maximum of up to four (4) people total, are considered a Crew. One individual alone does not qualify as a Crew. Crews and Crew members may also be referred to as entrants."

This is really lame, and I actually thought they would go through with it after hyping it up over the summer (see below). But looks like they have claimed it and backed down. :(

contest is open to snowboarders not skiers, therefore this would not work it would just be annoying to nike. i understand OP's reason for post completely and would love for this contest to be open to skiers , but we shall live another day without ONE contest being open to skiers.

Nike 6.0 America hates skiers. Fun fact I learn. Nike 6.0 won't sell their stuff in shops that sell skis. Only snowboards.

Its not so much about this specific contest but Nike's overall attitude toward skiing in general. Nike is about profit. Nothing else. If skiing were to get them more money then they'll pretend to care more.

I totally agree, but this is a one-of-a-kind contest for the most part, and I was really stoked to see what would come out of it from ski crews after seeing the summer version.

The point is that nike is a huge corporation that has previously supported skiing and could really help the ski industry out by pumping money into it. It is not so much nike not involving skiers in this contest but nikes complete un involvement in the ski world.

As far as I know, Nike Chosen is being put on by Nike Snowboarding. So it wouldn't make much sense to include skiers, now would it?

Nike isnt't just another company. They own a lot of other things like Billobong and Hurley. They don't just do snowboarding. They do everything from simple clothing, shoes, high performance layers, and a lot of things in between. You really think NIKE needs something like snowboarding or skiing to stay afloat!? No. They do it for profit and recognition in new and up-and-coming sports. Welcome to business.

Actually Abe kislivitz or how ever it's spelled and the USC crew is in this. I am friends with Abe in fb and he posted it

alot of you are missing the point. Nike ANNOUCED that skiers would be a part of the contest, along with all the other sports they sponsor (bmx, surf, wake, skate, snowboard). See the freeskier article and the description of the youtube video, skiing was originally included. but you win some you lose some i guess

I am in a crew with three snowboarders,

If anyone cares to help by liking or whatever that would be cool.

The ONLY reason Nike is even pretending to be interested in skiing is because the Olympics are coming up.

who cares? why would you want to be part of contest that includes, bikers, skaters, surfers, and whoever else? start your own ski specific contest. it will probably be better anyways. isn't this basically the superunknown contest but with teams? not too hard to do.

You are on meth. I literally just walked out of Hillcrest sports (Oregon) and there is a whole 6.0 section. And they sell skis
