You have to realize without Nike being there there wouldn't be any jobs at all and those people would be screwed. They may not be doing as well as people are in developed countries but they are stimulating economic growth. I'm also pretty sure that movie was made in like 2000 because Nike has been working on their Corporate Social Responsibility since then. It looked really bad for them and people were actually boycotting Nike's products, thats the way it works now in business since we have so much media, people keep tabs on large global presences. It would be a poor business move for them to have people thinking they're an evil company. If you look on their site they have Nikebiz, their Corporate social responsibility website that clearly states how they run their business. Now obviously they're not paying the same wages as people in North America but it is ludicrous to expect such, what they're doing is providing an opportunity and allowing for better working conditions. You have to realize Nike goes to factories and gets them to make their shoes, they don't build a factory and employ a bunch of people and start beating them. They get a company to produce shoes and they generally arrange for an increase in the standards for the people working there.
