Nicest guitar I have ever played.

I love acoustic guitars, but have been too poor to pick up something nice for myself. I've played a couple friends Larivee's and a couple of Taylors and thoroughly enjoyed them. I just about got a Godin 5th Ave, but it fell through (they didn't tell me it was on back order after a month of waiting). Hopefully one of these days.......

Well yeah, it's a 2600 dollar guitar. There's much nicer you can get for that price tag, but don't take it from me, try more out. I always thought 00- martins and vintage Gibson L series were the best guitars ever.

hd 28 is my dream guitar that is what michael hedges used and its an unreal sound.
Has anyone played a gibson j-200? those things are soo beautiful
Best ive played is a babicz and a taylor 514

I have a martin DCME

I'm absolutely in love with this guitar. It's not the best one I've ever played but I honestly think the sound of all of the more expensive guitars I've played isn't noticeably better.

My dad's friend owns an music shop that I visited the other day and I played a $5600 Taylor that was just incredible. I also played a 1914 martin mandolin that was pretty awesome :D

Bullshit expensive too. The workmanship is not worth the price. You really do buy the name when you buy from these companies.

part of the reason why I got into electrics (Fenders specifically) is because you can swap all the parts for under $1k and still have a really nice guitar.

but the harmonic boom of a well crafted acoustic is to die forrr

I fuckin know. I traded a 1969 Gib. Lg-12 through my eBay business..... loud as fuck and shook my whole room when I played it, but it was sooooo good. By far the best 12 string I've ever played.

just the sides are laminate... the top and bottom are solid spruce. And its laminated mahogany I think. I honestly don't think it affects the sound negatively at all-- my guitar sounds better than a lot of more expensive guitars with solid sides imo.

Trust me I played a ton of really nice solid spruce and mahogany martins/gibsons/taylors (some of which were a lot cheaper) before settling on the dcme. You gotta explore your options before dropping over a G on a guitar like that. I respect your opinion though--to each his own I guess.

true, i have guts on it.

i like plating slide on it, but the action is literally about 2 inches off the fretbard.

the things just really been abused over the years

I feel like every twelve string i've ever encountered sings like a flock of beautiful Norwegian women.

i played a friends custom breedlove OM that was the nicest sound i had ever played. but i havent played a lot of super expensive guitars.

Martin Dreadnaughts are an amazing guitar. I love acoustics, but I also love getting really stoned and playing with reverb and echo effects and stuff, so I got this:

They currently sell on ebay for more than I paid for it new, so I'm pretty happy about the purchase. It also is sick for playing the blues. unfortunately I'm missing one of the volume knobs but its a pretty generic one so it shouldn't be hard to get another if I ever want to. Had it for years now, but I barely play it. Its weird, I play guitar all the time, but barely ever at home. I really only like playing when I'm drunk.

My main stage guitar is a Maton BG808, a beautiful little guitar. My wife has 2, a BG808 and an 808 Performer. Bang for buck, these guitars are brilliant. I've played Maton Custom Shop guitars, as well as Gibson (J185, J200, Blues King) as well as plenty of Martins (the top end guitars are to die for, the bottom not at all). Taylor make some incredible instruments (Dave Mathews springs to mind!) Another Australian builder is Cole Clark - they have some of the most amazing and radical bracing and pickup/preamp combinations. From the small luthiers near me check out Dave Churchill, Ian Noyce and Sandy Richards.
...and I do love my Fender guitars
