Next years line up of rockered skis

well the bacons and the prophet 130s both have the early rise, it isnt that noticable but it does the job. the Eps are quite noticable.

this is just like the salomon lords, the have "rocker" but i put them together, couldnt see it at all, less noticable than the bacons or prophets

thier just words, they dont serve any purpose

Think wev already gone over this in the thread, not all of this years ehps are rocks however all of next years are, im pretty sure

Gotta quote it again, in the sia show below the pic for the ehps it says all sizes have rockered tip and tail, and looking at the pic they do look a lil rockered, why dont u think they are?

hmmmm i dont think, i know. just becasue it says it under the pic doesnt make it true. anyway, i work for them, and they arent rockered. the way the tip/tail is, yes, it does look rockered, but its not, so dont talk unless you know for sure. and im not hating, i just hate poeple that cant back anything up.

alright if u work for them thats legit, and im the same way u werent backing it up and i was just confused cuz they do look rockered and the info from sia said they were

Heres a lil info i got from skiJRF on the donner party and bibby pro for those who are interested, personally im starting to lean towards the dp for next season

I was at sugarbowl when I skied the DP's and dropped one cliff about 35 and bottomed out. Not gonna say that's what's always going to happen because I only dropped the one but they are definitely at home IN THE TREES. They are soo playful and maneuverable its just so much fun. I'm not one to go carving down any slope. My skiing is similar to that of say JP Auclair. He likes to throw his sticks sidways and play with the snow. These skis are PERFECT for that. The rockered profile and reverse sidecut let you have all the fun you want while being super forgiving. Oh yeah and you would think they would just be horrible on hardpack but I had zero problem getting back to the lift. In fact I was carving my way back to the lift.

The Bibby I probably mentioned earlier is more of an all mountain ski. Mine are at dead center and that limits their powder ability but next year the sidecut is going to 3 back and recommended might be one back from there. The way mine are they just slay the whole mountain. I love taking them in the park and doin 360 nose butters through tree jibs. Basically my fun ski. They would be a perfect one ski quiver but if you are looking for more of a powder specific board I would go with the Donner parties.

Any one rode the 2009 Jp vs Juliens? Im all over these skis. Think the specs are perfect for powder lines/BC freestyle. Only thing is that softer skis sometimes go to shit on hucks/high speed. Im on the Mojo 90's at the moment and think they're pretty perfect for hucks/freestyle versatility. Would appreciate any feedback on their flex patterns/feel etc.. Peace

GOD... semantics.

Obviously they are confused between rocker, early rise, flat camber, hybrid designs, etc etc.

If you really work for 4frnt, you should take the time to perhaps explain designs, instead of just telling people how fucking stupid they are. Thats my job.

"The 186 and 193's tips are similarly shaped with a long gradual radius

that is specially designed to provide maximum flotation which, although

reducing the ski's effective edge, allows for quicker maneuverability

in tight spots. The tails both share a common rocker design allowing

for increased floatation. The 186 tail tapers significantly to perform

as a pintail allowing the tail to sink slightly deeper into the snow

than the other two lengths."

^yea i'm going to email 4frnt about that.

but guess what?

my quiver next year might be...

HAVE

180 atomic powder plus (stiff straight ski, no twin, for charging)

181 msp (3/4 edges blown out underfoot, rock ski)

185 Praxis pow

GET?

186 ehp (my "everyday" ski, graduating college, gona be my grad gift)

179 hellbent (my butter/jib/booter ski)

muahahhaha...3 pairs rockered skis, no "regular" skis, meh. working at alta, so fuck it. i'd rather have more fun in the soft stuff and less fun when the conditions are shitty. plus, i'll be in the BC a ton, and i'll have the pow + for "bad" conditions charging.

ehp officially...

"

The EHP next year is just slightly softer in the

tip I would say but not really noticable. The ski next year has the

same dimensions as this years (129x116x123). As for the shape it is

zero camber underfoot but has early rise in the tip and the tail and a

little bit of a taper in the tip and tail. The early rise goes about

35 cm deep in the tip and 25 cm deep in the tail. If you need to know

anything else don't hesitate to ask.

"

The three sizes will share a similar rocker design. The only differences are the dimensions, which are as follows;

193-132x116x122

186-129x116x123

179-128x116x122

Also,

the 193's tail is a bit more blunt, not so much of a pintail because

it's meant for more big mountain riding. All three sizes are slight

rocker/ early rise. It's a very subtle rocker, so the height of the

tip (app. 4 cm) and tail (app. 2 cm) is minimal, which allows the ski

to remain stable on the crud and groomers.

All the best,

no, that is incorrect. The EP pro is the same ski in 08/09 as it was in 07/08. A Perfect, flexy, awesome powder ski.

Yah your not the first ive heard that from, shame you werent able to try it in real powder but everything ive heard about them has been disappointing when the ski sounded like a great design idea

yeah, another funny thing I forgot to mention in the review was the fact that even though it is a symmetrical ski, volkl still has a two lines, a center mount and a recommended a couple centimeters back. That makes them seem like they aren't too sure whether they actually like it center mounted.

same with me, but with Thugs, the one ski was rockered a tad bit for just one run, such a great experience, then the binding blew out.

Hell yeah, this is a bandwagon that i definitely have to jump on next season. Hopefully living in Revelstoke I think I'll need a pair.

I havent had a chance to ride any funshape skis yet, but ive done a lot of research. Its down to Bents, Pontoons, ARGs, Donner Partys, EHPs or S7s. Any thoughts, anyone riden any of them or could compare any? They would be a dedicated pow ski, complimenting Jp vs. Juliens w/ barons and ANTs or M1s as a charging ski to round out the quiver.

having not ridden any, but having praxis, i'd say go for the arg/donner party for pure pow ski. the reverse sidecut/reverse camber is the FUCK SHIT. so much fun, it literally feels like you're surfing the mountain. you can literally make any turn shape you want, but the funnest/most different shape is that cutback turn surfers make. i mean you can do it on any other ski too, but its more of a stop/jump turn than a smear.

for more stoke check here (spatula manual - mcconkey explaining how to ski the spatula)

http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9057&highlight=spats

and if you do decide to get that shape....get praxis. search over on tgr for them...i have them and they're the most durable, badass constructed ski evah. i could rant on, but i'll let tgr do it. $550 now during presale.

Fuck yeah, thats exactly the type of ski I want. I was actually thinking about some praxis too (I lurk at TGR a lot) Im always tring to make surfy playful turns on whatever skis I'm on, and traditional sidecut just seems to get in the way.

i saw those S7's in snowbird like a few weekends ago, they looked ill as hell, i wanted to demo some but they were too big for me and they were just there for like "certain people"

I've heard rumors that next years Line Motherships are going to have a slight rocker in the tip, can anyone confirm/deny for sure?

are you talking the 2010 motherships or this year's 08/09. Cuz the demos that I rode at the end of last season did not have any rocker. Those skis are straight fucking TANKS, plow through any and every.
