So this year me and some guys went to Jay Peak for 3 days of skiing (that was our first time that far north). We loved all the steeps and tree skiing there and next year want to get the same type of experience but want to explore somewhere new. I was thinking do 4 days of skiing next time and do 2 days at Stowe and 2 days somewhere else (maybe sugarbush or smuggs, cant do MRG cause of snowboarders). for that Trees and steeps where would you guys spend 4 days in that area?

Stowe is a pretty good choice for all around park/big mntn For your other 2 days...

Pick smuggs if you want more all around... and an ok park

Or

Pick the Bush if you want some park skiing (rails on rails)

we all ski a good bit of park down in PA but really had no interest in the parks at Jay Peak or anywhere in Vermont cause we were there for the challenging steeps and Trees.

is maine really worth the drive? didn't hear too much about there. And I'd go out west if it didn't cost so damn much

definately go to smuggs if your interested in trees and steeps but still the ok park option. if you dont give a fuck about skiing park at all id got to mad river glen for some even better trees and steeps than smuggs. mad river just lacks a park other than like 3 rails they set up on the practice race slope. bush has a great park (one of the best in the east) and the mountain is huge. they just lack terrain variety like smuggs or mad river which have much more challenging terrain than bush. stowe has great terrain and great park and very expensive tickets. the thing about stowe though is that you can hike a little bit and get above the tree line and there arnt too many places in the east you can do that with

honestly i would go to mad river for half the vaca, and bush for the other half. so you get the best park and the best all mountain/ trees. also theyre only 10 mins apart so you can stay in the same lodge/hotel

he can't, he has boarders with him. honestly yes Maine is worth it the bush and sunday river are sick. smugglers notch and stowe are your best bet if you want to stay in VT

No, it's not. If you're looking for trees stay in northern VT. Sugarbush, Stowe, or Smuggs. If you do go to Maine, go to Saddleback, not Sugarloaf or Sunday River

when looking up how much glades each resort had I got a little confused. smuggs claimed 750 acres bringing their total of skiable acres to over 1000 and i feel like that is bullshit, can anyone confirm or deny? cause that would make smuggs like 2 times as big as the other ones Im considering,

Unless they cut something new recently then there is no way they have 1,000 acres

I mean Sunday river is like 700, and they are like 3x the size

yea thats what their website had, 310 acres of trails and 750 of glades. seemed odd. and also to whoever said sugarbush didn't have the variety of terrain like steeps and trees, wouldn't they have similar terrain to mad river glen since its the same mountain? I have never been to either though so I could be totally off haha

Yea I mean I absolutely loved jay I just thought exploring some place new would be nice and if we went back to jay I felt like I might be missing out on things because we were never anywhere else in Vermont.
