Next season pickups

I pre-ordered some Nordica Doberman WC EDT 130's for next season. I tried to get them this season but waited too late and they were sold out. Excited because they switched from metal to carbon for the sole inserts so maybe my feet won't be as cold. Also it's a completely new boot mold and a 93 last instead of 95 for an even more precise fit with a taller cuff then the version I have (something I've been wanting, I hate a short cuff boot). Awesome looking grid system to help with grinding process and sweet looking matte black finish.

Other than that I'm looking to maybe find some used or on killer sale Shiro's for next season.

What liners and footbeds are you going with? Where are you located? Who is fitted those bad boys.

Sidas custom footbed and I'll probably put an intuition powerwrap liner in sooner or later depending on how the stock liner is. I have a tendency to hate tongue liners.

Speaking of liners, If anyone here is thinking about getting the new intuition "Pro Wrap" don't. That thing sucks to mold. The sole is just regular foam instead of the intuition material, which doesn't sound like a big deal except we couldn't get it to lay right in the boot for the mold, it made the liner crumple up weirdly. Took us 3 tries and several boot fitters to get me in properly, had to break out the old school teflon spray, and in the end the toe space ended up being not any better than the regular powerwrap, it was worse! The regular powerwrap by comparison was a breeze to mold, perfect on the first try.

Alex at the Bellevue Washington Sturtevants has been my bootfitter for the past few years. He loves problem solving and has an awesome attitude. Hopefully he'll still be around next season. He's getting his law degree and keeps reducing his at store hours.

Yeah I would not go wrap liner in a boot like that. You really don't want any foam under the foot. Go for a liner with a standard base and it will make the footbeds way more effective.

If you are ever round whistler I'd be more then happy to do the footbeds for you. I have been working with sodas for over a decade now and have a few cool prototype foams you may be interested in. They are working I some cool d3o type materials that can be sandwiched between the stabilizer and the footbed.

Let me know if you would like any more info on the footbeds.

I'm a big fan of D3o. Those footbeds sound interesting. Do you have any links?

I have been meaning to make another trip up to Whistler, it's been a couple years since I've been.

Nope not yet as I said its prototype stage. There are loads of different materials which are tested but I think these impact reduction ones are very interesting for the free ski crowd. There are some interesting foams for touring use too in the works.

you ou should try to come up this winter. I'm hopefully going to managing a pretty cool new shop.

might get a pair of these to replace my langes, purely coz the buckles will look good with my fks 18s hehehe
