Newshoolers: THe Motion Picture

I got a sick idea in my head. It involves all the best and brightest of newschoolers getting together to make a movie under the title of Newschoolers. Only amatuers involved in the movie, no pros. Everyone in it doing it for the love of the sport. A movie that takes you from coast to coast, north, south, east and west and everywhere in between. Similar to the K2 contest in that there would be a certain criteria to get into the movie and be able to participate in it but there would also be oppurtunity for everyone from the site to offer input. It would include all the best riders from different areas across the country. Provide short input into there mountains culture. The people editing the footage would be amatuers too. Something really original and creative that would become "The Amatuer Ski Movie". I think companies would want to get involved in sponsering the video because it includes us, the youth, the future of skiing, i think it would unify newschoolers. This video would help the best from newschoolers that are infront of the camera and behind the camera to get connected to the industry and change skiing forever.

I think this is going to blow up.
 
Nott a bad idea, a flick featuring local killers from most mountains in the US would be sick , so many people would buy it to see themselves and there friends.
 
to tell you the truth. I think this is going to take off. Name one person that wouldn't want to be apart of this, everyone is apart of this site caus they love skiing. I want to make it happen.
 
not just the us dude the entire world. Well probably not affrica or anywhere tropical but anywhere that has skiiers
 
We can work together. Besides it may resolve some of the hate. I think this is a great idea. If the guy who started this is an alias cause I noticed you don't have many posts just use your real username. I can understand why you'd wanna use an alias cause this is a pretty risky idea and NS is full of hate and you could get bashed
 
This can't really just be unoficial though this has to be a big thing or it won't work well. If it becomes an NS sponsored thing others will jump in and it will get huge
 
that would be sick but i think that it would take some huge organization skills that it would seem that ns doesn't posess but such a cool idea.
 
We need to have footage sent it from everyone in the same format, send it to liek pbp and they pick out the clips and put the skiers name on the bottom right . they dont tell you if your in it untill you buy it so if your in it its like winning .... PBP listen up bitches. you can make a shitload of money and have some fun at the same time.
 
Think about how much footage there would be: 70,000 members (less than that, but whatever) can all be skiing and filming at the same time!
 
no it should be that people send in their segments that they made and we can have like a 5 disc thing. $40 cause it's not just one company buying everything for it and putting it all together and the profits can go to NS
 
no it will still cut a lot. It'll still just be the best. There are lots of good skiiers on NS you'd be surprised I think
 
Yeah, that's why I said "less than that, but whatever). I know that only like 20,000 people come on, I said 70,000 because I knew that if I said 20K, someone would correct me.
 
yea man im done. i know there are a couple other people from kawartha lakes area. like ontario and stuff. we could all get together some time.

OR

we could just have like a limit, of like a 1 minute segment for every member. and then we send them in to a mod or admin.\

and then they can team up with some editors on the site, edit it all, put it all onto a disc or two. and then sell it, and put it either into the site, or do it to pay for the products, and we could do this shit annually.

and after like 2 or 3 years, we could all go to a mountain, like a big one, rent like a whole complex, and have a big newschoolers jam. where there are contests, like a free ride, we could have like a graff contest and all that stuff. the ideas and possibilities are endless.
 
this is seriously gonna need some good orginization though or it will die. Im hoping this guy will get contacted and we can get somthing going. A news thing on the front page. damn got to go
 
or maybe if you dont have anything constructive to say, you can not post, cause its only gunna flood the thread, and make it too hard to understand. if your serious then post your ideas.
 
Sick idea and and Andrew T you seem pretty interested in this to so i vote you and the alias person to start organizing......if you need some help i will deffinatly try as hard as i can too..........
 
the one minute sounds good. You have everyone who wants to be in it send it a one minute clip edited. Then the best of those get chosen and those people do longer segments.
 
I am not an alias. I'm just new to the site within the last year. I just started reading the threads over the past few monthes a lot and only got into the whole forum thing recently. I will do anything i can to try to get this idea off the ground. I've liked the ideas ive heard so far. keep thinkin, this is going to happen.

this sounds like a tremendous idea to me. submit footage to a group of people have them get together choose different people from different places and make a compilation of what goes on allover the place. I would love to contribute and represent AK
 
it sounds like a good idea but if you think about it you cant have 500 kids in a movie it would be awful. to make a good ski movie you need a few filmers and a few skiers you cant have kids sending in random shit from all over the country and expect to make a good movie out of it. and if you want people to film the movie rather than having people just send stuff in you would need a shit load of filmers and a shit load of funds to pay for the travel and shit

its just no a realistic idea
 
yeah, im not htinking a buttload of people in the movie but a solid amount, like the top 30 skiiers, from around the world. Only the best kids with the best quality footage.
 
This is possibly one of the best ideas I've heard in my life. Great thinking.

I would love to collaborate and help with it in any aspect. This is a great project to let people see skiers from parts of the country and the world that they would never see(like the southeast and atlanta). I can make a southeastern edit. But I really want to help.
 
yeah, thats what exactly what im saying, provide insight to different areas around the country and world, not just the north east and out west and whistler. I want it to include unique places like the south too that people have no idea about. o yeah, and europe.
