i logged into my profile and i was rediredcted to xvid.setup page which downloaded the virus.

XvidSetup.exe appears to be a new fake video program designed to deliberately swindle computer users. The name is used to conceal a malicious payload such as rogue system utility or virus. XvidSetup.exe is spread via web pages that is malicious. Usually, XvidSetup.exe virus infects, corrupt or delete some of your files or programs and modify the system settings without your permission. It opens up the port of the compromised computer through which an attacker can sneak in and steal the confidential data without the knowledge of the user. XvidSetup.exe is annoying and nasty, you should be aware of XvidSetup.exe and should be removed as soon as possible.

I suspect a bad ad was being served, but will try and verify. What page where you on when this happened?
 
This happened to me as well. I opened the "All 16" edit on the front page, and a new tab opened up with the "mackeeper" page. It asked me if I wanted to download the file, and I said discard. What's going on?
 
I got it too. I actually clicked on videos on my profile and it tried to redirect me. My antivirus gave me message that I was being redirected to a dangerous/harmful site and it blocked it. Pretty sketchy shit. NS gets hacked.
 
Kinda same thing, every once in a while when I click a link it will send me to some random page. I clicked on this thread and it sent me to a local surplus store's review on yellowpages
 
yeah this has happened to me a few times. Has anybody with ad-block had this happen? Since if not, it's probably an ad.
