yeah man. i hateee it when i see people in my neighborhood that drivebrand new LR3s and rang rovers and theyre only ised as a lux vehicle. i could put them to much better use
 
when i was first looking at cars, some guy was selling a turbo beatle, so me being teh 16 year old i was test drove it, to get out of the parking lot it was a hill, i accidentally dropped the clutch and smoked the tires leaving for a test drive haha, the dude didnt even care, and actually encouraged me to drive the 20k audi tt next to it.

except i have have all of my windows tinted and have some grenade diecuts on the back windshield..
 
Haha it did for a while, but it's been replaced with coils now. Blew the pumps out twice - the thing's been run through the floor haha

new car (wings back on dw) mods: cobb full catless exhaust, cobb up pipe, turboxs fmic, 3" perrin turbo inlet fp GREEN turbo with 8mm housing and 3" inlet, clutchmasters clutch and flywheel, hallman boost controller 850cc injectors and a walbro 255lph fuel pump and a turbotek tune at 22 bls of boost. guessing around 400whp. dunno cuz i havent put it on a dyno cuz i put it away for winter

You planning on upgrading the internals any time soon? Its only a matter of time before you have some serious damage if you are running 500+ hp at the crank, assuming a 25% loss from the driveline etc.
 
thats why im running a more conservitive tune next year im gunan get some cp pistons and a cam ..ran out of money... my set up i am running right now is COMPLETELY safe with stock internals i know ppl they put of 460 whpand liek 500+ tq with meth injection on a stock block.. and have for a year
 
It's because meth injection allows you to run at colder temperature and has better cooling properties than gasoline because of the atomization of the fuel. 500+ hp at the crank isn't safe on a stock block and 22 psi isn't that conservative, though if you have your timing retarded enough it would be a little safer. It is fine for a while but a day at the track is a good chance of killing the engine.

Cams will help some high end, though not for safety. If you are doing pistons do rods too, though I am sure you know that.
 
i know what meth injection does this isnt the first car i built....22 psi is still conservitave for this turbo on a sti my friend got the same one and run 26 on his stock block. and yes we race these cars i havent raced mine yet..everything was done by a professional soo i wouldnt worry about blowing shit up
 
Just saying it would be sad to see you have an issue after doing so much work. You can look it up all over nasioc, the rule of thumb seems to be 350whp on the ringlands of the EJ257 on pump fuel. Anyway, good luck, looks like a fun car.
 
Wow that is all I can really say to that....and ya I guess 350whp is very conservative for a stock EJ257, 400whp is probably more practical...but still, that guy is asking for it. See how long his engine lasts before it goes...haha tapping in the BOV with a mallet, I mean I know it works, but if you are going to put that much in to a car at least do it right...I was just waiting for the pop.
