my rust bucket.

actually, it appears as though my older sister might be getting rid of her 05 legacy gt.. it has like 40k miles on it

i might have to buy that off of her instead, since i know for a fact that its never been driven hard, and it can be just as burly as a wrx

nice. id rather have the legacy, nicer interior, and just as quick, if not a bit faster. ive actually got no idea on taht it may be slower for all i know. but id take either haha.

so fucking jealous. i would have had a 9000 if my parents werent gay

about the newest ones being 11 years old. my dad used to have one when

i was growing up- such a sick car. my only question is why mbc instead of software? this guy at jzwtuning.com does great stuff and t5 staged tunes are only $199.

and as for that other guy who responded to me, yeha youre right itll be like 220whp but its fast with the 205 at the crank now, so its still going to be a worthwhile gain. id venture to say that in a 3rd gear pull from 60-100 right now it could take a stock wrx (zomgzzz i cant believe he just said that!) and would definiely do it with the software. as for when im sending for it next week.

hah its chris name change son.also you might be able to take a 02( whenever the 2.0's were) but teh 2.5's i dont think youd be able to hang with.

hahaha word. i cant tell you how many problems ive had with this thing already. if this puts it in perspective, i had a leak in the car around the sunroof that put a good 15 gallons of water into the frame of my car that was swooshing around and eventually came pouring out onto my feet one day from under the dashboard. that was a disaster. the water rusted out my antilock break sensor and stability control sensor and eventually destroyed the internal computer of the car which caused my gauges (like speed, gas, rpms, everything!) to not work. this thing is one big headache. but it was free....so whatever

Same Engine?

Not exactly.

Same block and basic design, different parts and very different tune.

WRX has much more robust aftermarket support as well.

Not that the GT's aren't nice, I had one and it was fun.

Meh I don't think they look as good. Back looks better, but they fucked up the front. If I didn't buy it out I'd probably pick up the new dumbed down Evo for the WRX price range.

same engine? yes.

different parts connecting to the engine? yes

same engine, same compression ratio.

different intercooler, manifold, turbo, and tune

but other than that, yes, they are the same exact engine

Yeah, like I said...same block, which includes rotating assembly and the entire bottom-end.

The mani, turbo and mapping are really what make the difference here.

I have a friend with an 05 sti with a cobb access port and a turbo back exhaust, I am faster in 3rd gear until I get to 5000rpm
My other friend has a n 05 wrx with a vf-34 sti turbo he has a pro tune and doing 3rd gear pulls i'm a bit faster and I can full on him.

Yeah I am working on some t5suite things too. I am teaching myself how to set it up but I have some guys on the forums helping me out too. I will have software hopefully by SOC this summer, I need a downpipe too.

na they do make them, but i dont think they were sold in the us( may be wrong) but they have them for the uk edition and other countries. just as fastt but not as good handling see below.

i know they made the subaru forrester with a 2.5 in america our family friends had one. I didn't see that it said sti but i know it was a 2.5. It still looked pretty mean with a scoop and a spoiler. haha

99% sure that it would be an xt, its a 2.5t they make a outback xt was well. dope car, fast, but the forester sti was an sti, but with a forester shell

Thank god someone on here knows something about anything lol. Yea, it's sr'd and less backpressure=more hp for a turboed car. The turbo also acts as a bit of a silencer, so the car is quite a bit quiter than an n/a car would be if it were running the same exhaust. Not too much of a build atm, just getting susp. finished up with fully adjustable arms/links, so I can get a solid alignment while being low. And after that powerFC goes in within a month or 2. And hopefully I can hit the 300hp mark by 2010 when I save up for a gt28rs.
