Honestly i have never liked the driving position/ cockpit design of 944's. It felt like i was driving a bathtub. Is yours modded?

UPDATE: Just bought blouch td05 20g, now just trying to find a front mount and new bumper to accommodate the fmic. Big step up from the vf39. Any suggestions on whether or not to do a rotated setup if i can afford it even if the 20g will fit without going rotated
 
go rotated. Can position for direct intake air and heat dispersion. 20g is decent size to cram into your engine bay. Dont cheap on a chinese intercooler, you will regret it. Get a brand new intercooler core but cheap out on piping if you must. Ebay intercoolers are fucking brutal. A smaller good brand name IC is good for 400 hp.
 
yeah, it is an 89' turbo. there are some better pictures a few pages back.
I'm surprised that you didn't like it. I find it to be one of the most engaging driving positions of any car I've driven (and that is quite a few).
you really sit low, and IN it. personal preference, I guess.
it is modded as well. chipped, headers/exhaust/cat delete, intake, the usual etc. around 350whp.
 
Hell yeah. It is my first truck, switching over from cars. I have no complaints at all. It is really solid, and I can tell it will last forever. I've owned it for 2 years now, and haven't had a single problem. Handles really well off road/in the snow, and still rides great on the freeway. I only wish I had a different color, haha. I would love black, but I got a really good deal on the silver one.
 
good to hear. did you consider the tacoma at all? kind of a toss up, but buying used i think you get more truck for your money with the frontier. the tacoma reputation i think has inflated the prices just a bit to much and has created a false economy. the frontier has seemed somewhat more resistant.
 
Yeah I did. It was harder to find a Tacoma that was a good deal, like you said. I personally like the look of the Frontier more too. Also, the Tacoma has slightly more bucketed seating position, which I am not a fan of. My brother actually got a 2011 Tacoma a few months ago, so I have been able to compare them more, and I still like the Frontier better. Granted I am not modding it, or ever going wheeling or anything, so I don't consider any of that type of stuff.

your not going to find a bumper for a front mount, you gotta cut it yourself. not a big deal at all though. dont go rotated, wayyyy to expensive/difficult to deal with. 20g's arnt mean to be rotated, so dont do that.
and i would disregard everything tronned said, if your gonna get anything off ebay, get an IC, they may leak a little, but its not really an issue.

fair enough. Im talking from personal experience in regards to intercoolers so do whatever you want. Ebay intercooler wont drop your intake temps low enough for good power. My friends mk2 jetta with a large turbo had a ebay FMIC then we switched it for a AMS and the problem was instantly resolved. But youre right, I dont know anything. Why hack a mod shit mods together? If youre going to mod your car, do it right so you dont have to redo it. Spend the money on parts that are known to be good.
 
or maybe just get an ebay FMIC and get those super awesome Hella horns with the extra cash, you dont need a good intercooler and you will have amazing style with those horns. You maybe right with the statement that 20g's arent meant to be rotated because im not a subbie fanboy so i dont know the true amount of work involved with the job but i am a firm believer in the idea that you should never half ass a tune on a car, so if it takes extra money just wait and do it proper so you dont deal with a bullshit install.

this- do it once- do it right- ebay fmic suck the dicks broski- get a good core or kit and you wont worry about all that jazz- the benefit of a good core designed to deal with the the amount of expansion and heat your going to deal with will cost more- but it will be much smaller than a similarly rated ebay fmic and you wont have to hack as much at your bumpers- all of my intercoolers have been either AMD or BRRaceengineering- the amount of boost drop you will see is minimal combined with lower IAT's then the ebay knock off- you'll be a thousand times happier

You would be right if that was a 2.5RS; but its not...its an Impreza L, probably like a 96' which was before the RS was even in America.

yeah thats too low for that car imo. its so low on the wheels, but the rear still isnt that low cause of the bumper. looks weird. id imagine you'd rub like that too. just get some nice daily driver stance going
