don't know any thing about skiing. i live in brooklyn (long drive up to waitsfeild VT) and noone in my school knows anything about skiing. it's half funny half annoying, they ask me what type of skiing i do and i say bumps, big mountain, park, etc... then they ask me questions like do u do areals? i say no its a different type of skiing. They ask if my brother does areals and i say no its a diffferent type of skiing. and the funny thing is when they ask me how to do a trick. does anyone else have this problem?
 
^^why not? i live in CNY and i went to big sky and it was amazing, everysingle day, fresh pow, it was heaven
 
you must've head wrong then. the lifestyle and pace of things is very different then anywhere out west. i personally like the laid back attitude of some other states, but i also like the "tough guy, welcome to new york, now go home" attitude. it's good to travel and learn about how other people live, so don't just judge a whole area unless you've been there and experienced it.
 
yea i live in western ny...such a different atmosphere. its like a different country compared to nyc. ny should be divided because its so different
 
ye i live in southern ontario...its gay man cuz no1 at my school knows anything about skiing, or snowboarding for that matter. i have like 3 friends who ski, the rest are just like "wtf is a ski?"
 
i love it when people are like, "are you good?". then i respond with "i am decent". and then they come back with, "well, can you do a backflip??!!" i gets me everytime.
 
wait, i think i get it now. im pretty sure you're from new york, so forget i said that to you, but it still applies to anyone else who thinks that. sorry about that.
 
I fucking hate it when its spring skiing and I take my skis to school on friday so i can go to my buds house. Always a bunch of dumb assed kids tell me im crazy and theres no snow left.

I went skiing over Easter weekend and EVERYONE in my office asked if there was snow... because there is tons in NH when it is 80 degrees in NYC. But actually there are a few skiers in my office and we all call in sick a lot in the winter... you'd be surprised how many skiers there are in NYC, but they all suck for the most part. If you don't believe me, go to mountain creek on a weekend. Ouch.
 
and hunter gets mad crowded because it's "the closest big mountain to nyc," or something like that. i can willingly say that there is only one person other than me in my school that knows what newschool skiing is, and im the only one that knows this site.
 
new york sucks, i hate it here, and soon i will be living in utah, and going ot school in vewrmont, so fuck new york, never come here, unless you like fat cock and you dont like skiing. Dont come here the air is covered in smog, the kids are all tough guy assholes who either think they are balck or are in the mafia, and then all the girls are anorexic shallow bitches, fuck this place, i cant wait to get out.
 
wow, why all the hate peeps. i live on long island, and i wouldnt trade it for the world. 5 mins from the beach, 15 mins on the train to the greatest city in the world. the yankess, mets, rangers, islanders, all with in a half hour of each other, and everyweekend i drive 2.5 hours to windham and ski amazing terrain, that is not filled with the trash that hunter has. and if you are really ambitious, drive another two hours and your in southern vermont and the options are endless. thats my ny rant.
 
i graduated from kellenberg last year.(yup had the last prom ever there) now i go to school at Sacred Heart in CT, but il be back on the island 2 weeks for summer
 
wow man i live in LI too, and man it sucks. Do you notice how fucked up this place is, there is nothin to do here, Windham sucks i hear, but ive never been there, Im movin to park city soon, and i cant wait to leave heare, man it blows here sorry to break it to you, anyways where do you go to school, im goin ot boarding school next year, so happy to leave this fuckin place, i guess I just hate ny cause im such a big mountain junkie
 
it's a fun place but i have to drive for like 7 hours to get to where i ski in VT. it's so much more diverse than VT.
 
yeah there are like 4 tiwn tips in my school out of like 3000 kids..good old upstate NY..its full of snowboard posers that piss me off
 
i'm from NY and i got the same stupid looks and questions as i get from people in CO now. it has nothing to do with New Yorkers... it's people who don't do the sport in general that have no idea.

hunter is absolutely hilarious. the accents. the jeans tucked into ski boots. the starter jackets from 1990. the yard sale every 20 ft. there's no skiing like it anywhere else in the world.

and nyc is awesome as far as bars, music, museums etc. but i think the city in general takes itself too seriously. everyone is rushing, running somewhere, typing emails on their blackberries...
 
i live in glastonbury, CT, home to some of the like rishest assholes in the U.S, they all play like water polo and lacrosse, they don't understand hiking, mountain biking or rock climbing, one of u guys want to adopt me?
 
western new york is mad into skiing. probably origionates from the tremendous amount of world class ski areas and athletes
 
yep cny sucks compared to the west but its def. better than the city. i hate it when i tell people from out of state that im from ny, and they just assume that im from the city. ive been there three times
 
dont be dissin lax. i fucking hate how people generalize it as a rich mans sport. fuck that, the rich kids on my team SUCK and are too pussy to get hit.
 
that is the fucking worst part of ny. and in you live north of kingsotn you live on a farm according to the city slickers.

it sucks when there are pl form the city that think theyre good and try to go alll fast and shit and then hit ppl an get them all hurt. 1 guy dies at my hill and another gat mad hurt from them. and whoever said about the bitchy shallow annorexic girls is sooo true. the further you get from ny, the chiller the chicks get. i mean today in school soem chick realized i was looking up her skirt and got pissed at me. at least theres kids in my school that ski park tho. only 2 of them can do a 5 tho, and 1 is me :(
 
Yeyyy new york i love how most of the people in the state(even you guys) think of upstate ny as around albany... i guess i might as well live in canada
