I'm a Canadian going to NYC for the first time. I'm not yet old enough to drink down there. What are some New York delicacies that I should t ry out? Usually when I go somewhere I like to down some local food. Feel free to suggest sites to scope as well.

-Karma to any carp who says searchbar.

New York style pizza i guess, salt water hot dogs. Go to Boston, there's better shit there. New England Clam Chowder (depending on what part of canada you are from you are prlly already familiar with that) lobster, boston baked beans, fenway franks.

Manhattan clam chowder, really good sushi places, even though I guess not NYC style, Juniors cheesecake, Magnolia cupcakes in Greenwich village, and usually very expensive but if you can- go to a steak restaurant. There are way too many to name but NYC has the best steak houses in the world. Or try Sylvias in Harlem if you want to see a different part of city and want good soul food.

sylvias is the bomb, my brother did an ad campaign for them so we went and ate there, haha. little out of place though

go to china town, pm me if you want to know the absolute best place to eat chinese

go to a good deli, its expensive, but its worth it. I suggest Katz's, Carnagie, or 2nd Avenue. get a corn beef on rye and a black cherry dr browns. i promise it will be amazing.

I've said this before and I'll say it again....Try Joes world famous pizza (it is nationally notorious as the best) on the corner of Houston and Carmine

if you like pizza check out spumoni gardens in brooklyn if you have the time to trek out there, best sicilian slice in the five boroughs. if you like lamb go to the gyro cart on 53rd and 6th in midtown. hands down the BEST lamb/rice ever. make sure to get loads of white sauce and a wee bit of red sauce. straight fire. it's open seven days a week from 7pm-4am, always a line. one platter is $6. can feed 2 people. if you're in chinatown check out hop kee. good cheap family style chinese place. fast service. always.
