New Years in Montreal

Some friends and I are coming up to Montreal for New Years Eve. None of us have ever been there before. Any recommendations on some good parties and cheap places to stay (other then a hostel)? Anything else we have to do/see while in town?
 
check out the bell center, crescent street, st laurent street, both at night tons of bars clubs whatver as well as strip clubs lots of those! check out st catherines all the main streets theres some good shopping also d structure is on st denis if u wanna check it out yea man enjoy.

and go eat at Schwart's on Saint-Laurent they make the best smoked meat in the world!!(go in off hours though there's a lot of people there)

the Vieux-Port is something to see too
