New Year: Where to Go

What's up guys,

just posting in here as snow begins to fall across the states to get us all looking forward to winter photography! I'm assuming the photo program has changed a bit from last year, so would some people who run it possibly make a thread laying out what it is, and how we can be a part of it?

Other than that, who went on some cool photo trips this summer? Any other places of inspiration/ stoke? Let's hear it!

Pretty much worked all summer, gotta pay off those student loans...That being said, I'm really looking forward to get back into skiing and shooting this season.

Something which would be good to start doing is getting a better idea of what kinds of things photographers are doing.

We've been really upping the ante on our Journalism side of the site, but certain stories are far more photo heavy than words. So if you guys are doing trips, shooting anything specific - it'd be great to hear about. You never know when something is there that we could collaborate on.

As well - don't be shy to try and sell ideas of a story to the edit staff. Budget isn't great for these types of things right now... but it is definitely there. People used to pitch story ideas to mags all the time, and we're certainly open to the same thing. This is going to be a big, growing part of Newschoolers so just don't leave us out if you have an idea that is going to take some money to execute.
