New World Record

i read that today...good times in detention for the worst resone...thats a whole different story..crazy shit..he stuffed his back pack with pillows and shit for extar support and padding....when he landed he also sun 10 FEET INTO THE SNOW! crazy shit right there
 
i kinda think that you should have to ride away from something for it to be a world record. i mean, if someone wanted to do the "biggest 9 in history" on a park jump, it wouldn't count if the dude bailed hard and slid down the landing on his back. i know the cliff is like a mile high, but maybe people would tone down a bit if they knew they had to ride out of it for the record to stand.
 
as I said to everyone:

It would be impossible to break the record standing.

The record broken was: Biggest cliff jumped and landing uninjured

Which means he would've had to land in any way without injuring himself.

Impossible without falling on his back in the snow.

But really.. people get more excited about a guy going off of a 265 footer and not landing it than they do from a guy landing a 100 footer.

Personally, I would find the 100 footer more impressive. At least that takes skill.
 
it is NOT a record.

pretty sure it came in at about 230.

they had a bit of trouble measuring it, so that isn't exact, but no record.

pretty scary, but Leo I guess was already talking about hitting it again but building a kicker to help him.

This year has been pretty bad regarding skier deaths - I seriously hope he, if he does it again, does it right.

It would be really sad to have another ski die this season.

Yeah I would so much rather see skiers ski sick big lins and throw some spins over some spine transfers or over like a nice 25 footer like pep for instance that shit is so much more entertaining to me.
 
i think that once someone starts doing cliffs so big that they land on their face, ski off and call it a record is not so much of skiing anymore, its like kids who do step onto crazy urban rails, and theres not even snow, i dont want to come off as a hater because thats easy to happen on the internet, they are so sick and ballsy but it can reasonably be called rediculous and be said to, in a way, be breaking off of the sport of skiing
 
leo will get the record on this cliff, he knows he'll get it if there was a kicker there, and honestly a kicker would be safer, however counterintuitive taht is.

it's his life he knows how stupid it is, but its liek his life goal sort of...and after warnign him what are you supposed to do?

i mean i feel like we've al had moments like this, albeit on a smaller scale, you go home and tell your mom you were trying an 540 degree spin off a 40ft park jump and although thats like average here, or even below average, to a random person it soudns fuckign nuts. they're like no wonder oyu hhurt yourself...just liek we're telling leo, but he trusts himself and his preparation, and if he wants to go for it having thought it whrough who are we to restrain him? i mean he would have been fien apparently if he had gone farther...he had it but he didn't go far enough...he cased...there's no way he's gona be satisfied with that...build the kicker a littel higher...i'm hitting it again
