New warren miller trailer not too shabby

this.a lot of durtschi which looked sick. but i might as well as well buy the pbp movie and support a legit company than to spend money on going to a wme showing to watch pbp footage and hatveit's backyard setup. the sad thing is, gapers are going to be so impressed by it, when the majority of us knew it existed for at least a couple of seasons now. must be kind of shitty that poor boyz have to shoot two movies and only get their name on one of them.

I'm not saying wme is unimpressive, or that there aren't any people who work for that company that are passionate for the sport, for I'm sure there are. but when i hear people somewhat familiar with skiing talk about the wme movies (usually my dad's buddies and their gaper children) i just shake my head. if you really want to be impressed, go watch the films of companies that live, eat, and breath skiing, instead of the one trying to get the most buck for the minimal amount of bang in their movie. just cause they went and skied in india, or pakistan, or whatever middle eastern/ asian country they are going to pick next year, doesn't mean it's good skiing or that the sport is being pushed.

Warren Miller, the man himself hasn't been involved with "Warren Miller Entertainment", the people who make movies with his name and voice in them for over 10 years. None of the narration they use in them from Warren is new anymore, and he has no say in the company. He's made it clear he doesn't like the company.

For "Refresh", Warren recorded some new voiceovers for the movie. WME sued Level 1 saying that Warren had no right to use his own voice in the ski movie, and that Level 1 was depreciating the WME brand. They claimed that Level 1 owed them money for damages and money they made off having Warren in the film. Warren stepped in with a countersuit, which allowed Level 1 a bunch of time, at least.

As best I remember, the case ended with the court deciding that there was no way to prove that his appearance in the Level 1 movie hurt WME, so Level 1 wasn't responsible for any damages, however Warren is no longer legally allowed to use his voice or likeness to support a ski movie production. That might not be a perfect explanation, but you get the idea.

Yea, there's few companies I'll publicly flame, but FUCK WME. Support the companies that support what's right in skiing, not the companies that are only there to capitalize on it.

I would apologize, but I'm not sorry that someone with over 1200 posts doesn't know how to use the search bar or Google.

probably i hate how they are trying to keep up with the freestyle scene but they cant even film there own park shoots

There is still nothing better than sitting at home watching an old wme movie from when he was still involved. But yeah now wme kinda sucks

yeah. i can't remember which classic warren miller it was, but there was this hilarious part where it was like 2 minutes straight of people falling while getting off of a chairlift, and there was one guys job to throw equipment and people out of the unloading zone. i wish they still did that. these days they stop the lift for 5 minutes every time a gaper drops a pole.

yes hahahaha I miss those scenes. and he put those in all of his movies before like 2002. so maybe one of the ones in the late 90's you saw one of those scenes. like endless winter or snowriders.

Interesting, I had about 1 second worth of a shot in there haha. Bene off the tunnel in St. Cristoph. [/claim]

On super busy days we have to do this on our beginner lift, otherwise the lift line is literally hours long for a ~1 minute run. The worst are the fat people who offer zero help and make you pick them up all by yourself.

the wierd glitchy sounding song at the begining reminded me of this years TGR trailier. makes me wanna watch that....

I mean it was meh, but I dont understand how this works like why do they buy all there shots?

Im really confused with this whole Warren Millar Entertainment shit like why do they even have that name?

Pretty simple. WME wants park stuff in their movies. They don't shoot park stuff, so they buy footage from PBP and I'm sure others.

WME gets their name because Warren Miller named it after himself back in the day. He's no longer involved, but they still use the name.

WME vimeo profile

"1949 – 2010… Sixty one years of action sports film making! Warren Miller Entertainment is the most respected name in action sports cinematography, capturing the best of winter sports since 1949...."

Most respected my ass.
