im going to school at syracuse next year and i have no idea if there are any near by mountains worth hitting short of a trip to canada or like gore/whiteface

Syracue University?

Anyway, Around the Syracuse area I'd say Toggenburg and Labrador (both about 25-30 minutes away) are definitely worth skiing. Both have pretty nice parks, considering the size of the resorts. For skiing out of the park, nothing around here is going to compare to say Whiteface, Gore, Canada, etc. Togg has some fun trees if you know where to look. Lab is a bit better than Togg for just riding around the mntn.

Togg has pretty good prices too. $10 dollar college tickets or a $175

college season pass. Lab has a $190 college pass.

Song Mountain pretty much sucks, so stay away from them.

Greek peak is a little further away (50 or 60 minutes) park isn't as good as Togg or Labs, but all mntn riding is better.

Bristol Mountain is pretty far away (about 1 hr 15 mins) but has a decent park and probably the best out of park experience.

I'd definitely say hit up Togg and/or Lab and/or maybe Greek or Bristol, but definitely Togg or Lab, before you head off to Canada or Gore/Whiteface.

They are all closer. They mostly have good college deals. Togg and Lab have sick parks, and lab is pretty good out of the park. If you want an ok park but good all mntn you have Greek and Bristol.

Snowfall is decent around here, but not great. You can def expect a good storm or two. Maybe season totals of anywhere from 130 inches to 200.

i am actually out of the rochester area but i never ski around here except for bristol cuz i take a lot of trips to gore or vermont but since i will be on a college budget soon so i gotta find a cheep local place ski at. and yeah syracuse university im pumped for that shit!!

Congrats on Syracuse. I also go to SU. I will be a junior in the fall. What school are you in/what's your major? I'm an aerospace engineer major so I'm in LCS.

What type of skiing do you like? For park, def check out Togg or Lab. Sick parks, good deals for college students. Hit me up if you need a ride or anything.

Togg also has a deal with SU on Friday and Saturday nights I believe for like 6 weeks a season where transportation is included. It's run through your Ski Club, check it out if you don't have a car. But yeah, come to Togg, we're good people. :)

um im in arts and sciences and hell yeah im definately looking for some people ski with so send me a message to my profile or whatever and ill hit you up on facebook!

Well if you've been to Gore, you know their parks are shit. But they're moving it to Wild Air (under the gondola).. which is still gonna be shit. But for tree skiing its some of the best shit around, especially if you know where to look.

Whiteface has a good park, but if you can go to Lab/Tog it's not worth the drive all the time. Maybe go once or twice to check it out. Also has good tree skiing if they actually have snow.

hey man glad u got in to cuse! that shit is hard lol.... but you got greek peak which is 30 mins from there then you got song mountain (not that great) but you also have labador mt, toggenberg, there are some back country shit as well just have to find it and poch it lol
