Hey everyone, I have been skiing for many years and have recently started to venture into the park at our local ski hill, at first because my kid always wanted to be in there but now I am obsessed at learning some tricks and getting better. I live in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan ,Canada. So thats my intro , now for a quick question, I want to get out into the Banff area for a couple of end of season sessions and wanted to know if anybody could recommend which places would have the best parks for a beginner? Thanks a lot

All the banff area mountains have begineer lines in their parks. Norquay, sunshine and louise are all good. Morquay has night skiing on friday's so that is always a fun time, not sure how much longer they will be open though. Havent been to sunshines park yet, but louise's is good. They have two begineer lines and a bigger line.

Sunshine: amazing park, looooong laps.COP: open april 4 and 5, awesome beginner park, good features all around. Might be warm and slushy/sticky.Louise: beginner stuff a little lacking.For you I would go to COP, probably best, safest, confidence building features in the area. Keep in mind you'll only be able to go on the weekend of the 4th and 5th because they're having a special weekend due to recent snow. Wax your skis before you go.
Sunshine probably has the best park for beginners. They have a few easy boxes, some small rails and beginner jumps. You'll definitely have a good time. I'm the no poles park skier with the purple jacket on big fat surface skis if you want to say hi.

I swear I saw you at Pano in like... December or January. Rockered surfaces?
Don't think so. I was in China and Vietnam through most of December and was working in Nova Scotia in January. I've only been living in Banff since late February. But yep, rockered surfaces. I may try to get down to Pano soon if I can hook up a pass.
