New stupid snowboard xgames event

Just read on espn website that there will be a 'Best Method' competition. Does anyone else think this sounds like a ridiculous event?
 
"Snowboard Best Method will feature the top six snowboarders

in the world in a final-only competition in a 10-minute jam format for

best method – similar to the Best Whip competition in

motocross. Best Method is a fundamental trick in snowboarding where

each athlete has their own, individual style. The final will be 100% fan

judged and voted on via text messaging."

More money....
 
Seems like FUN! Not epic, not steezy, not technical, not progressive, not next level, not balls to the wall, just F-U-N.

Shit, I'd still send you free shit if you post a photo of a Huntony on our (brobomb) facebook, even though that little contest was like a year ago........It's OK to do something that is 100% not cool or progressive....just FUN!
 
it does actually sounds like a fun event. Who knows, maybe we can get something like this for skiers, like best shifty or something?
 
is this going to be like moto best whip, where the method has to be the main part of the trick?
remember, nac-whips were allowed, but not whipped backflips
so will method spins be allowed?

Best zero spin for skiers? If they were cool enough they'd do best screamin seamen or spread eagle over the big air jump or something.
 
they need that for skiing, but it should be best cork 3 and only be judged on style and how huge they go. that would be sick

If method are done great they look bad ass. that's like saying screaming seamen is not cool.

it's a great concept for a local jam event, not for the x-games....
looks like they're just tryin to get maximum profit out of the tele-voting ....
 
thats the stupedist comp ever. sounds like it would be a closing day comp for drunk snowboarders at arapahoe basin.
 
This is all part of a cycle, Last year Xgames had skiing high air in the pipe right, this year they have best Method. So my theory is each year they will have a new small single goal competion like these, Highest air, best method, who knows whats next, best backflip, shifty, ETC
 
For skiers it should be Best Daffy or Best Spread Eagle. Nothing like doing one of those on a large jump. I love it.
 
At least its a method contest with text message voting. Whenever they do Big Air comps with text voting the biggest name wins even if they don't throw the best trick. I think this event will be pretty cool. Hopefully it'll be on tv
 
it can be best of s single trick. or how about best trick in a line. it would be kind of like tony hawk haha, you have to manual or butter and do the trick in a line.
 
that'd be such a sick comp and even tho its the same trick over again it would never get boring
 
I think it would be cool if the crowd had three tricks that they could give the rider. The crowd texts in which trick they want to see the most, and then the riders all do that trick and are judged. You could do that three times.

That could be awesome.
 
bahaha. or like in toy hawk when they shout out tricks as you're going. imagine that, you're approaching a jump or rail and then................ 720 mute!!!!!!!!!!!
