New skishop lounge idea

me and my buddy are thinking about starting a ski/boarding shop around skirts of Utah. we thought thats something we thought the industry was missing, the fact that their were no roots shops around. Places where you could just go, walkin, and chat with the guys around the counter and go party with them that night. Just a chill; layed back environment with the dopest gear fresh that season. sound good...?
 
sounds sweet, but the thing that you gotta remeber, is selling twintips wont make much scratch. the most money in almost all shops comes from your everyday joe setups, rentals, and shit like that. in order for that to work, it has to be affordable, and if you just have peeps chillin there and nt buyin much, it may be tough to keep it together. maybe have a shop combined with a small little eatery/coffee shop. that way you could get more cashflow. and DEFINATLY sell Snowboard stuff. thats a ton of cash as well.

actually, d-structure is very much like that, the store in mtl is dope cuz u can just walk in, sit down and talk with the guys there, real good concept

yeah i know this aint a "new concept", and much respect to d-structure...because yes they are much like what i would like our shop to be like, but we want a snowboard/ski vibe instead of a ski/rollerblade vibe ya know. as far as food...i wouldnt want a full on cafe but maybe have a redbull cooler and some little mtn snack type shit would be strait... eventually we would like to host a railjam/cookout sponsored by the shop every year and build sponsorships with a few riders...ya know shit like that
 
my shop lets kids do that-we have an upstairs with a projector and movies and shit, some couches-a turtle and a goldfish. its chill. and thne we party later
 
at the shop i worked at they had that. the boot fitting area had a bunch of pretty comfy chairs and a tv. and the board rooom has the same thing. you can just hang out there. its pretty sweet
