New skis? Jeff102 or Arv106

I live and ski Colorado 3 months of the year.

I’m 6’2” 220lbs and ski more centered and surfy.

30park 30groomers 30allmountain.

I used to ski K2 Marksmans 106 2017 for years and now I need something new.

I’ve been really interested in ON3P Jeff102s in 186 but I’m kind of worried the big time rocker won’t be enough under my feet. Not interested in going 191 since I find myself in tight places sometimes. Am I stressing to much about the rocker? Would I be able to charge hard still in Jeff 102 in 186?

My other option is Armada Arv106 in the 188 length. I know it’s a bit heavier and I hear the new version is stiffer but I shouldn’t have a problem with flex if I really use my weight. I’ve slowed down in park but still hit big jumps and have my days where I send it. The marksmans were damp but I loved them. I definitely want more pop in my next skis.

I’ve had a lot of help from this community in the past and I value everyone’s input. I tried the prodigy 3.0 in 190 for awhile and it was just a lil too much in tight places.

I can't comment on the performance of the ARV since I had the older model but you're definitely stressing about 186 Jeffrey not being enough underfoot due to rocker.

The Jeffrey 102, 186cm effective edge is 149cm. To put into perspective, that means only 37cm or 14.5" or ~20% of the entire ski is not considered an effective edge.

Also consider these skis are likely the same true length, 186cm, since on3p measures after pressing and Armada does it before.

Edit: you mentioned faction 190 being too long sometimes. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they measure pre-press as well so it's actually a few cm shorter than 190cm. Not sure 186cm is gonna be a significant difference for space considerations.

What turd said ^

Im 5’8” and ski a true 184cm with 126cm effective edge in Colorado. You’ll be fine with the 186cm with 149cm effective for park and tight spots.

You should note that the Jeff 102 is just not a hard charger. It's great all over and a ton of fun, but not gonna charge hard. I recently skied the J102 and Enforcer 104 Free back to back the difference charging was night and day.

I have last season's ARV 106 in the 188. I think they could work for you OP.

I'm 5'11" 185 lbs. They're heavy and stiff (not sure how stiff compared to pure charger skis) which make for a great charging ski for myself but I think for someone your size the 188 would make a great middle ground. Just note that these will feel more planted as they have more camber/less rocker than pretty much any other ski in this category, but I didn't find them to be difficult to get the tails around either when I wanted to. Just takes a bit more effort which I'm sure you'll quickly get used to at your size.

FWIW, my 188s measure out to a true length of 185.5 and weigh about 2290 g/ski.
