New Skis - Alpha 1, Afterbang, or Chronics?

Hey dudes and ladies. Need some advice.

Finally graduating from my piece of shit Line Invaders. They actually held up well for a solid 4 years. I must confess at the time of purchase I was more of a snowboarder looking to get into some mild freestyle skiing.

Now, while I'll still throw in a snowboard day, you could essentially consider me a full-time skiier and looking for a serious improvement in the park. So here's my stats, yo:

6'0 even, 160 pounds

I'd say advanced skiier. I can slide boxes, rails, and do small spins. I ride the east coast (springs & wisp what up) but typically do 1-2 west coast trips a year. Last year was Telluride (bonkers, by the way) and this year it's Big Sky. I take those trips with the Pops and some co-workers, so not much park skiing there. Need to be able to ski it all, and well. I was able to ski just about everything at Telluride with relative ease on 4-year old, falling apart Invaders, so having a true "all-mountain" ski isn't all that important. The way I see it, I can make do on a park-ier ski, but the dropoff will be far greater with an mountain-ier ski in the park.

Too much rambling---The point: Considering Line Afterbangs, Line Chronics, or Armada Alpha 1s. Any user reviews, thoughts, or alternate suggestions (I'm open to others) are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for the help, ya crazy dutch bastards.

well dont go with the afterbangs if u are going to be doing any downhill got with one of the others any advice go with chronics the alpha 1s are a weird shape to transition to

one of my homies got alpah 1s and theyre a great ski, easy to move around, great swing weight and can pretty much go any where on the mountain, the early rise and reverse camber make it a very versatile ski. great in the park. id go alpha 1

i would not go with the afterbangs. they look cool, but i haven't heard a good thing about them on the mountain.

a kid i know has the chronics and he likes em but he doesnt do anything besides groomers and just cruisin around.

haven't heard much about the alpha 1's but i know armada makes really nice quality skis.

well I'm 6' 180 and I rode the afterbangs for 3 years.. just got chronics this year and they're such a solid ski love them and no regrets. Get Chronics

like said before get the a-bangs out of your mind.

i would ditch the alpa 1's also and throw the ar7 in the mix, great park ski if you like a nice stiff poppy ski, from what i have heard the chronics are very very simalar.

chronics are a full sidewal where the ar7 is half sidewall and half cap, this is the only advantage i can see it having.

I would say the Alpha 1 is the most superior ski in that line up! Tapered tip and tale make it feel small and give it minimal swing weight when spining, however ur tip and tail are still there, just a bit off the surface so you will still have good stability with them..

Some other positives is that with the tip and tail taperd and rockerd you will have minimal tip catch on jumps when taking off switch... and if u like to ski with your skis close together these are great because with no big shovel in the tip and tale, they wont get hung up on eachother like a normal ski you as used to now.

i hear the 1st few days on these you gotta get used to them, but after that they are going to be ur best friend...this is definetly the future of a park ski, just as the JJ is the future, or was the future of pow skis...

Also check the Halo too! this ski is bout the same with some different flex pattern!
