New Ski Shop

Hey guys, was wondering what your thoughts were on the possibility of a new ski shop coming into town that was similar to Jibij in CO in that it catered only to freeskiing, try to promote new competition at KB and holiday and might have a small team of sponsored riders.

Would you guys be interested in a shop like that? Or do the shops around here give you everything you need?

It would kind of be like a phatmans but only cater to skiers

I would be down for it as long as the shop had competitive pricing and a internet shop as well.

If I could get my gear locally for the same price as I go online for, and support a local shop, it'd be very sweet.

I'm not sure on the market though and if there's enough of a market for it locally. But that is where internet sales would come into play.

Is this something you were thinking of undertaking Garrett?

Yes, actually it is. And a internet store is hopefully going to be part of the shop if it happens....I am also not sure if the demand is huge...at least in WNY.. when I ski at holiday valley majority of the time I see more skiers then snowboarders in the park...but I just started noticing that last winter

Do the market research, post this up in regionals too for the new york region. You'd draw off the Bristol kids bigtime too.

Freeskiing is getting huge. I agree. You see more kids freeskiing than you do freeride boarding. As in actually riding.

As for the internet portio, at this point you would need something that distinctly set you apart from other shops like evogear, jibij, porters, twintip nation...ect.

What about maybe a freeboarding and freeriding shop? Intertwine the two and feed of both aspects?
