New Ski Shapes (Triple Rocker Moment)

Triple Rocker and other ski shapes Moment is making are great. The Moment Frankenski has Triple Rocker (basically its flat together in the middle and behind and in front of the bindings its like a bubble then the tip/tail if that makes sense) so is it the next big thing or just another ski shape? Moment describes it as : "Rocker at the tip and tail, low center camber, and two sections of micro-camber embedded in front of and behind the binding. Rocker and low camber let the ski surf and slash in powder, while the micro-camber sections create focused edge pressure on hardpack for carving." To any other dumbass like me it doesn't make sense but it looks cool, but once you ski it it makes sense. Its like the pressure makes the ski into a full rockered ski with tips and tails and they just float, the contact points on the snow are great, you can surface spin on really anything and not catch. It also really excels in pow (even tho the Frank isn't a pow ski) they perform really well for a 92 waist ski. What is the best shape and how do you like Triple Rocker and if you haven't tried it what are your thoughts?

...yes what what?

You asked a question, it was quoted and answered.

i said are they a park ski or a allmountain/pow ski. he responded yes ? that doesn’t answer the question dog

yes is the answer. they are all the above

Im convinced that eventually skis are eventually going to look like a squiggly line from all the camber/reverse camber and sidecut/reverse sidecut options.

Never summer has been making snowboards like this for some time. One of my buddies swears on the Proto HD. So I assume skis with a similar profile would be great.

I dont know what to say about the triple camber on the Deathwish, but those skis shred. What I don't like is that when you're centered upright on the ski it feels like it can skate sideways way too easy. I don't know if that's the tripple camber per se or just the low camber, but I don't like it. Its a little gripe though because the skis overall are great daily drivers.

Had my 3rd day on Deathwish's yesterday skiing Whistler slush; very weird for me but liking a lot; surfiest ski I've tried and they can sorta carve :). Seems like it'll be sliding on ice trying to edge, then you weight it enough to flatten out the ski and it bites in better (or doesn't and surprises me). So odd, but I'm really loving learning them so far! Going everyway but forwards never felt so good to me :)

only ski technology we need is a ditchproof ski.

legend has it that in on3ps labs, they are working on one so they dont have to send out skis to everyone who breaks their skis in a ditch

Somehow I’ve made it to 2019 only riding traditional camber.

You should check out some of the other options, it may open up a whole new world to you.

That and how many skis are out there that are full camber these days?

I just get used park skis mostly for the cost. With how many skis have rocker combinations these days, I’m surprised I don’t see as many in my price range.
