Anyone who has there Learner's license right now, like me, is partially effected by this. Anyone who is not 16 yet and does not have any license is affected the most.
If this rule didn't go into effect my rules would be:
- Novice stage lasts 18 months
- 'N' sign must be displayed at back of car
- Zero Blood Alchohol Content
New Rules
- Novice stage lasts 24 months
- 'N' sign must be displayed on back of car
- Zero Blood Alchohol Content
- ONLY ONE PASSENGER
* unless accompanied by a superviser 25 years or older with a valid Class 1-5 Driver's license.
* immediate family allowed with no supervisor
- If you recieve a driving prohibition, you must go back to the beginning of your novice stage. You lose your accumulated driving experience time.
To summarize it, In February at the earliest when i go to get my 'N' license, instead of being basically free, I instead can only have 1 passenger in the car unless they're over 25 and have there class 1-5 license, or unless they're immediate family of mine.
No fuckin problem unless I'm driving my little brother everywhere... damnit, this means I won't be able to have people pitch in for gas money when driving to the ski hill unless they are immediate family or over 25... and I don't have many/any friends over 25 that ski...
not to mention when I'm in college/university I'm still gonna have my stupid little 'N' in the back of the car/truck and if someone steals that from you, then you CAN'T DRIVE unless you have a spare with you or go and get a new one.
I know people are gonna say 'who cares, just drive on the old rules, who's gonna know?' and the cops are gonna know, they've been informed and around here they're super harsh. My friend was going 90 in a 50 zone (loooong straight stretch) and they pulled him over and he got a $350 speeding ticket and they were asking shit questions like 'do you have nitrous?' and 'does your horn work? give it a toot' and 'did your radar go off when you drove by here? what? oh, you don't have a police radar... my bad'.
this is so gay. And for people who don't even have there 'L' yet (what you get when you're 16) then you have to drive with a supervisor (class 1-5 license) for 1 year and a maximum amount of 3 people in the car, including yourself and the supervisor.
