New Pictures of my car.

i'll agree with that. i'm not a big evo guy either (into mazdas myself) but i just can't see the internals holding up to upwards of 1000 hp at all. i could be wrong but that just seems like a stretch to me.

either way i'd rather have a reliable m5 with some "basic" bolt-ons plus a few goodies then have a ticking time bomb of an evo that's pushing 1000 hp.

Well ya it would be a ticking time bomb but thats what most track cars are...people are just waiting for the rebuild.

Honestly I would be way to afraid to mod an M5 hahaha....I'll stick to my swapped out WRX and keep it at a modest 450 or so.

Well this thread obviously got jacked by a bunch of 16 year olds. I am a member of awdpirates.net and lots of my friends have tuned up wrx's with way more mods than I have and I seem to have no trouble keeping up on the highway from rolling starts 40-70mph. There are so many aspects that you guys seem to ignore, the gearing between my car and the wrx's is totally different. When someone says "Damn is that faster than an STi," they are usually some ignant kid who drives a cavalier. Aeros can easily handle 25psi with stock td-04, however my car has 236,xxxmi and its my daily driver, Eventually with time the car will be set up better, but for now this is what i'm rocking.

Some of us do know what we are talking about ya know...and fyi I am quite a bit older than 16. Just cause you can keep up with a WRX from 40-70mph doesn't really mean anything, like you said it is just gearing. It is a nice car, not trying to bash it. I was posting against other people who just jump all over a certain type of car and are like "Dewd ur car is so f4st!!! u beat STIs rght?!?" like you said, a lot of people are ignorant.

25 psi is a lot on a TD04 compressor housing, you are seriously limiting your flow. An upgrade probably won't be that much if you can afford it. 17 psi on an 18g td05 turbo will push a heck of a lot mroe than a 25 psi on a td04.

I think you are thinking of the td-04 in the wrx, Lots of guys on the forums are just upgrading internals to a 19t with a full 3" exhaust and a custom tune and easily make 420 to the wheels. I think eventually I would like to have a Holset hx40 in there, but thats down the road when I can re-build the engine. One of my friends has a '05 wrx with a vf-34 (injectors, fuel pump ect...) Pro Tune, 3" blah blah and my other friend has a '05 sti with invidea turboback and cobb stage 2 software. The wrx rapes the sti.

It's all in your definition of "Fast" there are cars that have ridiculously fast 0-60 times and then there are cars that can accelerate 50-70 faster than a 911.........
50-70 figures in top gear:

Saab 9000 2.3T 5.6s
Lambo Diablo SE 6.3s
Porsche 928 GT 6.5s
Lotus Esprit S4 6.8s
Aston Martin DB7 7.1s
BMW M3 7.1s

Those numbers can't be right, are you talking going just from 50-70 in that amount of time? Cause 6 seconds for some of those is pathetic.

And no I am not talking about the TD-04. The TD-04 itself isn't specific to a WRX, it is just the compressor housing, tons of different turbos use housings that are TD04, TD05, TD06 etc. At 420 hp you are severely limiting yourself because of the small compressor housing limiting flow. Like you said running a 19t with a 3" exhaust and tune can be a lot of power, but they could have more by using a bigger compressor housing.

As for the WRX being faster than the STi that is probably just in the tune. Cobb tunes are really weak, the custom tune is much much stronger. He basically has a slightly better fuel system with better injectors pump etc than the STi but they are still running the same turbo, both use a VF34. They are essentially at the same level, the WRX just has the custom tune to make the difference.

those 50-70s are in highest gear.

also i know what im talking about, at least with saabs, and im a bit older than 16.

you can find the HX40's pretty cheap. my buddy and i are finishing up building a 89 eagle summit with a 4g63 swap and hx40. right now were putting in new fuel lines with two inline walbro 255 fuel pumps. this thing should rip when were done. straight up freightraining people.

and for those people saying that wrx's and evos and sti's with minor mods are fast... thats stupid, those cars arent fast, they are "quick" and fun cars for what they are, but definetly not fast. a porche 911 turbo is "fast" neckbreaking fast.

New beamers are ugly. I can't believe they fired the guy who made all of their sedans in the 90's pretty much the best looking cars ever and then hired someone to round off the noses of most of them and put stupid flashy badges and trinkets all over the new M Series, completely defeating the point of them being sleepers.

The Z4 M is pretty sweet though, I love the mindset they went into building that car with.

Right they are quick, its all about the money tho ya know? Fast car for the price and you get the suspension, driveline and everything else.

Holsets can be fun, but there are more and more problems with them that keep surfacing. For the price tho you can't really go wrong.

And just cause a Saab in top gear can beat a porsche from 50-70 doesn't mean ANYTHING. That is just the gearing. Mid range acceleration like that is a completely pointless statistic.

Clearly you're referring to me.

I never said it was a super car, I was saying it's a lot faster than the people saying "so what?" and "what's so special", and use the fact that it will beat some WRX's (I was referring to the 02-03 2.0T, guess I shoulda said that) as a reference seeing as 1/2 of the NS's population would get a hardon from touching one.

It was a 2.0 until 2006. And they still aren't faster than the 2.0T, equal probably but not faster.

And I actually wasn't referring to you specifically, just the idiots on the forums that fall in love with one car for no real reason and have no idea about anything to do with that car or any other car for that matter.

couldnt agree anymore. i like sleeper cars, i just thought id post some riced out ones so it just catches someones eye when rolling through. IMO nothing looks better than jet black with some chrome or black rims, especially 03's and before
