New Phone Time, Considering Windows. Advice.

I searchbarred and didn't find anything specifically relating to this.

So I'm up for an upgrade and I have thought and researched long and hard and I have decided almost definitively on the Nokia Lumia 928. One, because it's free and secondly because it seems like a solid phone with a new-to-me OS (Windows Phone 8). Do any of you have any experience with this phone or operating system? I'm also considering the Samsung Galaxy S4, but it's $200 and I'm not a huge fan of Android OS on phones. Thanks and I appreciate input.

I've heard some good things about windows phone but I'm pretty sure anyone who likes windows phone OS has never used android or OIS.

I'd wait a month. Apple is coming out with two new iphones, the Iphone 5s and Iphone 5c. The 5c is only going to be $99, could be perfect for you.
 
The best way to find out is go to best buy or wherever and use the phones a little bit. If you are bored of android, it would definitely be fun to move to a windows, but I took my windows back and swapped it for an s4 because of the lack of apps and abilities with the os. Both are great operating systems, you just need to see which phone you like better. Good luck.
 
I've had a droid, iphone, and now I have an htc 8x with windows phone 8 on it. Its by far my favorite phone out of the 3. The app store is lacking but it still has every major app that android and iphone have. My htc has more memory, a faster os, and a better camera than both of them. Everyone I know with an iphone that has played around on my phone has said they would of bought a windows phone if they started over.
 
I use about 4 apps: Snapchat, Flashlight, Dictionary and the Bible app. Aside from that, I have 94 seconds as a game and that's about it. I'm not to worried about new and shiny apps.
 
Wait a month before you buy a new phone. Apple and Samsung are coming with new ones in september

I have an HTC Trophy and other than that, it's a great phone. Not a fragile piece of shit like an iPhone, either.
 
while i haven't used the newest windows mobile os, I can tell you that every previous version has blown major asshole. windows has repeatedly failed in the smart phone market, so I'd be very reluctant to go that route.
 
I'm leaving Apple/iOS so I don't really/never really have care/d about the latest and greatest. Does anybody know about the build quality of the Lumia 928?
 
windows phone is actually a super slick OS, and it has official apps for everything from snapchat to twitter. The only app they are waiting on is instagram, but there are several 3rd party apps that do even better than the iOS or android instagram app. everyone who says windows phone 8 is 'beat' hasnt tried it yet.

I have used all three of the major mobile OSs, and Windows phone is easily better than iOS, and probably tied with android

That's gotta also cover Facebook, and, er... hmm... errr...
