New PEs have that spiffy topsheet and new sizes, and are a bit wider... looks like an improvement to me.

...Who the hell cares about the p-tex topsheet? It's a cool idea, but it doesn't do anything for the performance of the ski. Why don't more people care that they are softening up one of the best twins on the market?

^It seems like it should eliminate chipping and so on. Hopefully it does something about delam... although the rivets helped that, too. Softening the ski while widening it will, I guess, make it a bit more pistol-like. That's not a bad thing.

yeah it does dumbass. ive been waiting for a ptex topsheet ski to come out. ptex is so much stronger than normal abs topsheets, its way lighter, and its much damper than abs. all in all, it makes a stronger, lighter and better riding ski. as for graphics, they are ok. the origional ones were sick, and last years were UGLY.

yeah i liked the graphics on the old ones better 2 but this years topsheet will be a good thing.

Softening kinda sucks. But i like how its a little wider.

 
im goin with the new ones...they have an awsome looking picture on it and they arnt as stiff

the original PE graphics are where its at all the way, the gold ones are too pimpish, and the new red ones are better but i still like the original

i love this year's graphics. i'm a big fan of cleaner graphics. the vector-ized look has not been done yet and it gives this ski a clean look without going too plain jane like volkls or the t-halls. i think 'busy' skis are a bit too much (like next years lines)

 
it depends on the price. the new ones are a little better, but the old look better. if you can find the old for under 200 unused, go with those.

 
fuck the new ones who wants a softer ski if you want to go out side the park stiffer is so much better i think its cool that they widened them but so gay that they are softer its like a win lose situation

The new Public's are awsome everywhere. However the graphic's are not my favorite. IMO the 179 skis better all mountain than the 177 karma. Verstile solid feeling ski everywhere park,groomers,bumps and decent in pow. pretty cheap to when they hit the stores. Probably K2's most Verstile stick for 05/06.

 
the new pe's are sick. i just wish that when they added new sizes that they would have added one size bigger than the 179, perhaps something in the 183 - 185 range.

 
No PEs.... two of my friends just broke theirs, one ws bought new this season, the other was 2 seasons old

saw next years PE at a shop in VT sick looking ski I think. ANd to everoyne saying they shouldnt mess with the flex and what not. I guess i tend to think K2 knows what there doing, and there not gonna do something that makes the ski worse.

The only problem i've had with my PE's is binding retenbtion....i've ripped the heel and toe pieces out several times now, wood core...gotta helicoil that shit in first time...make sure your shop uses the right drill bit as well...sucks when you land to see your toe piece fly off....

btw...nxt years PE's ski WAY better than the OG model...sick and damp
