New PC Setups......

Maybe PC's jumps have a bit more consequences but there is plenty of pop, and airtime for doubles. And correct me if I'm wrong, but there is more to skiing than double flips...

Easy for you to say.. sorry we don't all have sleds and don't have access to dope terrain ...and don't be fucking ignorant...I'm not bitching because we can't do doubles...I'm speaking for a large group of people that would like a lower consequence step over style jump that would be good to learn doubles...who the fuck are you to say "how many of you would actually try them" I know a handful of unknowns who would drop them the first day they build a good jump for them....And no you're right not every jump needs to be built a particular way that enables you to do specific tricks...But would you not agree it would be nice to have one or two? I mean they feel the need to push an absurd leg crushing step down...so why can't they build a big poppy step over? Diversity would be sick..i.e a line of 5 jumps all different styles to cater to ..true table to step over, to gap jump, to step down...etc etc

A lot of kids out here are newer college students who have moved here from the east and midwest who moved out here because they want a dope park...and yes pc offers better than back home...but Pc is definitely not living up to the big Park City reputation all kids have learned to know.

And I guess you can go head and say go to REI and buy a shovel...do you think it would also be a good idea to suggest a beacon and a probe..maybe an avy class?...shit that some kids can't afford because they're barely scraping enough dough for school and a seasons pass so they can actually feel what it's like to ride an actual mountain..not a midwest landfill with 200ft of vert?

I have been fortunate enough to hook up with the right people to be able to go explore the backcountry a little bit and build some jumps and try to trick some natural features...I personally love it..but it's not everyone's cup of tea..I know that when I go to pc I would like jumps that have nice pop with a nice smooth landing that I don't have to worry about crushing my back on if I go 10 feet too deep. Some people live for park and would like to be the next gold medalist at x-games..that's their thing and that's their view of skiing...maybe that's not skiing to you

not whining, just a waste of potential, in my opinion. Park City is fun, no doubt. But it could, and should go to the next level.

Yes, diversity would be a good thing; however to Park City's defense they tried it with that step over to step down, and received nothing but hate. Granted, that may not be the diversity you are talking about but its not like all their jumps/features are identical. Maybe there aren't any step overs because of the lack of snow; those jumps do take more snow to build if you want them big enough to double.

And speaking of ignorant, most people should know a huge reason for PC's park hype is marketing dollars being tossed to various publications to talk it up.

And lastly, if those people who do "live for park" move to Utah they should realize their park setups are not going to be on the same level as Summit County.

It just seems so trivial to bitch and complain about a quality park setup. It's better than 95% of other parks, and the snow in utah (other than this year) is better than 99% of other states. Skiing is 30 minutes away from a major city with plenty of educational options. It just seems like people shouldn't knitpick about their skiing situation here in Utah, its pretty much the best option out there.

park city's marketing and publicity for their terrain parks is mainly due to us kids filming and putting out edits there...hell if it weren't for 4bi9 and their edits i probably would have not ended up riding at park city and coming to utah, so they are getting MY money because of the advertising 4bi9 pretty much did for them. now, we have multiple groups of kids making banger ass edits all the time, pretty much giving park city free advertising for their terrain parks constantly, and they should return the favor. PC has the potential to be the absolute best park in the country so why not push for that?
many kids have no other option but to move here because their parents won't let them quit school and/or they are smart enough to stay in school and want to ski a top notch park when they aren't studying, some of which who want to do dubs so they can have a run that competes with everybody else in comps these days because quite frankly shits getting nutty and the features need to reflect that. Park City needs to be on the same program as summit county and if you think otherwise you're a fucking retard.

although in my mind the main issue is lack of big jumps, step down or not there is only onle "big" jump at pc and i would hit a jump much larger then that in about any other style but how it is now i wont waste my time with. the issue also is rails... where is a cannon feature? huge DFD? god a single flatbar, those are always fun for rail play but there isnt one anywhere. i get the whole "lack of snow" but they cant use that bullshit as an excuse for the lack of rails. also i think they shouldnt have even opened kings untill they had enough snow to build exactly what they wanted. but they did open it and now there is a lack of snow and the only thing that will change with will be to close it and blow, wich they wont. so they should use what the have and build at LEAST one big safe jump with a few other jumps of other styles, i dont think thats to much to ask for.at the point of this thread is to provide feedback and suggestions to the park.so that what were doing, saying what good (pick) and whats bad (kings) and sugesting what we as the riders think might improve the park(s). so dyhole, i dont think were out of line at all, im only here to do what jeremy asked us to do and thats simply voice our opinions, now i think jeremy needs to come on here again read em, and tell us why kings isnt getting bigger jumps or more rails or when they will. when he gives us a reason or a time frame we will just be patient till things change but a month ago i said i would be understanding untill mid february, well were almost there and the parks have hardly changed a bit and we havent gotten a word on what going down.

Yes, jeremy, even tho you don't like any of the rails, we do! Kings is severely lacking on rails, s-rail, flat down's, whale tail, soo many rails that have been set up before that are sooo fun that are just sitting in the junk yard. You guys did so much shit on homerun, why cant we have that caliber on kings and pick?

And the last three jumps need to be fixed, first one needs to be like 5 ft longer, the next one needs to be like 15ft longer if not even bigger, i was taking 2 checks and going 1/2 way down the landing each time, if you just made it 15ft longer or something, it would be so money! and just take out that last jump and put rails there, such a perfect spot right now for some down rails, flat down, flat to drop, etc. please!

also in pick and shovel instead of that tiny up box can you set up an up picnic table with a stepoverish landing like in the homerun park? that would be the epicest way to use the picnic tables because the kings picnictables fucking suck no offense.

i agree. I mean they claimed that they got rid of jonseys because of traffic issues? why not just put fences around the park like they always have done that seemed to work well? Jonseys was hard to beat, always fun jumps and tons and tons of fun jibs. It was such a long run with so much stuff that you could lap it all day and it never got old. Please bring it back!

here is a summary of their comments from their facebook page yesterday..add Park City Parks and Pipe as a friend..

"We are planning on getting as much out of the boneyard and on to the snow as we can here in the near future. I am hearing that there are going to be a bunch of new features up tomorrow. I will get pictures up here asap, but they plan on deversifying the rail selection for sure."

from yesterday

i gave them a word of my mind on facebook. and they aren't adding rails. they are just moving shit from payday to the parks in a terrible way. the mini park is a waste of space. those features are retarded.

sorry i dont have a snowmobile like you do. maybe you could come across a little less douchy, and maybe try to help some other kids get into the bc and experience that side of the sport. and unlike you, i didnt get a free pass, i paid the 300 dollar student pass and because i am a paying customer i will provide feedback and evaluate my experience at the mountain. if pc is not performing up to the level that i expect or the level they have told me they would perform at then i ( any of us) have the right to say something in a constructive and helpfull manner.

from their facebook.

"Thanks for all the comments, its cool knowing you care about everything we are doing, its super good motivation to get the parks in top condition. So you know we have seen all the comments on here and on newschoolers. The problem here is not so much we don't put thought into things or we don't know what to do, its more that we don't have the cat ... See morehours and man power to do it. The park director tells me we should give him about a week and by then he hopes to have King's where he wants it. I'm really sorry you guys aren't pleased with what you see out there, jus know we are doing everything we can!"

sorry to keep posting but what is up with the "ridge"? how is that jonesys replacement, its rediculously small and the jumps arent worth anything. whats going to happen in the spring when pick and kings get too slushed out and we dont have an upper park to ride?

since when do you need a sled to access dope terrain? Grizzly has more jump spots than PC has jumps. If you live in Utah, you have access to dope terrain.

PC is fucking ill. I love that place.

Where the second flat box used to be at the top of pick, i literally like the first flat box more than the next 3 features combined. The d-f-d tube is such an ill rail but i feel like the lip is so far away from the rail. And the upbox speaks for itself, so bad.

bootpack up to grizzly is not to bad once you get back far enough there are actually cat tracks that go all over and are real easy to skin or boot pack on. there are so much sweet areas in that place its unreal so much more than i ever realized lots of fun.

Pc is the best it's been in the last 4 years in my opinion. And is the Ridge even a concern for you? If the jumps are worthless, don't go there. Pick is a perfect small/Medium park anyway. the Ridge just keeps all of the youngins outta the bigger parks.

And I highly doubt it was the Park Staff's idea to move the park to the Ridge. I think it was upper management tired of getting complaints about park rats going 100mph down to jonesys, then going under the orange rope, across the cat track to middle jonesys.

And PC has a good amount of diversity in the jumps I think. Granted, they're not all big, but it basically goes table, step over, perfect true table, step down, huge step down.

13 year olds are doing dubs on the second to last one. Giray dubbed the step over.

PC is ill. I just want it to dump so I can shred some pow.

It's better than brightons s-rail that they set up on a way steep downhill last time I was there.

kings rails today were MINT! i love the s rail. even the second feature is dope. up down rail is sick! new fd is dope! new rails are so fuN! nice work
