New Oregonian article!

On the front page of Friday's Oregonian is an article about the progession of freestyle skiing in Oregon. Carlson, Cummings, Pollard, and Wright are interviewed. Its a great article and it made front page... Sick!
 
it was a good article in my opinion... the sport is blowing up especially over in CO. It seems almost like skateboarding 6 or so years ago when everyone I know picked it up. I predict super-huge media crazed shittyness in 2 years. So yes an excellent article that kind of foreshadows freeskiing's fate in a few years. So just ski everyone and keep the sport mellow and awesome and new everyday....... ......... yes this time of night leads to long rants thanks to my favorite vegetable

its good that schools like lincoln have started freestyle teams and more schools like jesuit and tigard might follow, but i dont know about ski racing programs adding freestyle competitions so all the kids who race can pick up their pair of twin tips skis and start trying to hit the park
 
yeah. racers doing park wopuld be major devolution of the sport. style would go to shit. although every good pro used to race. haha. well most. but yeah. i say ney.
 
^the college league I was in last year had racing and freestyle and it worked pretty well. you could choose what events you wanted, so the people who were hardcore racers would still just do the races, but people that were interested in both, or just in freestyle could do the halfpipe and slopestyle events. it was fun. 
 
not true. i race for The Dalles, and freestyle when im not racing, and all the teams in OISRA are starting up freestyle stuff so i think its sweet cuz we'll have an excuse to use our twin tips on school time.
 
hmm but freestyle comps from a racing association, this sounds like moguls where your judged on how penciled your spin is and how little style you have
 
not really for highschool, when i used to snowboard i competed in oisra and it was always obvious who the winner was because only 3-4 kids spun and the one who landed the largest cleanest spin would win.
 
hahah yea the HS snowboarding teams are such a joke. Everyone just does 5050 to indy off and some more tindies and sketchers. Those fools suck and close down the MHM park on the busiest weekends... HOpefully skiing will turn into this as well some flat box rides to kang out and maybe a few 3 kangs... yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
