New MSP movie

Im sorry, i hate MSP as much as all of y'all but their new teaser has blown any other teaser in the history of the sport out of the water. I love L1p, i love poor boyz, but MSP produced some solid shit this year, and i will for sure download the movie illegaly on limewire.
 
It's actually really mediocre. There have been many better teasers. Just about every teaser L1P puts out, for example.

Why do people get so unbelievably hyped by teasers? Every fucking year there are about a hundred threads about "OMG THIS IS AMAZING BEST TEESR EVARRRRR THIS MOVIE WILL BE TEH BEST SKI MOVI OF ALL TIMES". No, no it won't. Calm the fuck down.
 
god i agree 100%, every teaser msp puts out is almost exactly the same. they all have those stupid voiceovers that say "omg it snowed so much" or "we pushed it sooo hard today" or some other corny ass shit. that shit gets old quick
 
God...that does get so old, just like winning movie of the year 2 out of the last 3 years....pssh....but at the same time PBP and L1P put out fuckin dope movies every year and all the MSP lovers get on this site and hate on them too....GOD I LOVE NEWSCHOOLERS.COM
 
every year MSP puts out an epic teaser and then when people go out, buy the movie, go home and watch it its the same old MSP bull shit. The same huge jump, shot in seven differnt angels all in slow motion. This year tho i did not see the notoriouse MSP jump in the teaser and their line up of skiers is very impresive so i hope that this is the Film that breaks the chain
 
Uhhhhh, I still saw the booter jump on Blackcomb during sunset with the heli following overhead in the teaser. What are you talking about?
 
From who?! Powder?? Like that counts, MSP fucking determines those awards for themselves. I'm not on Berman's dick by any means but LSS was easily the best movie last year. How the hell did you get that little statistic? Because if I'm not mistaken the last three years' movies have been Push (forgettable at best, and I've seen it at least a hundred times now so that's saying something), The Hit List (so absolutely fucking terrible, not to mention irritating, that even the riders who were IN it hated on it and no I'm not naming names for reasons that will be obvious if you use your head for a second), and Yearbook, which was, aside from Abma's part and that gangster shit from Booth and Biollo in the bonus section, quite possibly the worst ski movie ever made when budget is taken into account. MSP hasn't made a good movie since Focused, and in the intervening time they've managed to piss off just about everyone with their unforgivably awful business practices while making that trash. Last year was a step in the right direction, Push was watchable. Maybe they'll step it back up. But don't start with any "movie of the year" bullshit because it just isn't so.
 
I agree. Everyone cares so much about teasers. Even with other film companies. I prob watch a teaser about 4 times max before watching a vid, unless is pterodactyl blood or some other good teaser. Teasers still dont give an accurate representation of a ski movie. It just has a few of the shots, says the locations/skiers. The only thing that will make the movie that great is the movie itself.
 
what about LSS? though i will admit i was very surprised when the movie actually lived up to the hype
 
WOW I AM IN AWE OF THAT TRAILER. thesy have a lot of good riders in this yrs movie. im pretty stoked
 
it should be pretty solid this year considering the immense amount of talent. theyve got pretty much all the bases covered.
 
Jd, i love L1p more than any other film company, but until they release their trailer and i see how it stacks up, im going to claim MSP as having the movie of the year. The trailer is epic, i even showed it to some friends who are chill snowboarderrs community and they were ridiculously stoked on the new MSP trailer and said it was so much better done than anything they have ever seen including the new mack dawg trailer, msp hit the nail on the head of compelling people to want to check out their film
 
It was good, but it certainly didn't live up to the hype, because the hype, as always, was that it was going to be the messiah of ski movies. And it wasn't quite at that level.
 
why do you hate MSP so much? and why do all the rest of you hate any film company? Each and everyone does there own thing, if you dont like it dont buy it, and dont look back over your shoulder. Each film company has a vibe/style that they go about doing. Most importantly to those of you starting to swear off pbp/msp/level 1 your stupid. You do realize those are all the roots of ski films? If it werent for any of those companies you guys probably wouldnt even have movies or a sport for that matter.
 
Didnt they get the best review from freeskier for PUSH...hmmm I think so....but yeah i guess they didnt win anything from the newschoolers movie awards....shit...

The funniest part about that post is that this is a better outlet for skiing news than freeskier. Honestly there are no awards for movies in this industry that have any credibility. At all. You basically just need half a brain your head to determine what's good and what isn't. War? Good. Ski Porn? Not. Focused? Good. Yearbook? Not. And so on.
 
This will never be a better outlet for skiing news until kids stop calling each other fags, and noobs, and hating on each others moms....The site has the potential to be a better outlet for news, but until that day comes it wont be taken as seriously, especially when admins/mods loke you are spewwing untrue shit on the site....example....ostness works for msp....not true..
 
Although i agree with your choices, that is completely an oppinion. It is up to everyone to choose for themselves what is the best movie.

Basically any ski movie in my mind is good. Some are epic. Instead of just, "that movie sucks", or "that movie was sick", i listen to what's actually in it.

5 stars? by who? why? powder saying that a movie is good doensn't mean anything. People describing what's good and what isn't are useful. That's why movie awards aren't as good as newschoolers for picking out movies.
 
this movie looks amazing, i dont know y everyones hatin on MSP, they've put out sum amazing movies... the lineup is sick, the camera shots r sick, and the shit they're doing iz completely dominating the action sports world (especially that ski-base jump wit the squirl suit in the teaser)
 
How is that spewing? It might be incorrect (in which case Brian C is incorrect, and I rarely know him to be, but everyone's human), but it's not "spewing" anything. It's a bit of a stretch to say that claiming someone works for a company when they don't is tantamount to some sort of libelous behaviour, isn't it? Pretty mean thing to say about MSP, when you think about it, that claiming someone's working for them is an insult. Now who's spewing?

You don't really have to take the forums seriously to realize the news value here at least... every second post could be "fag", if the info's still there (it is) and if this is still the first place people go to find something out (it is), it's still a better source. I don't think much of the forums myself; it'd make more sense to me if we called them "ski cesspool" and "non-ski cesspool" instead of gabber, but when something happens, it's on NS within hours if not minutes, and that's what makes it useful. Anyway, you're telling me you take freeskier seriously? Come on.

Besides, if NS wasn't here, where would Eric Iberg go to fuck with teenagers for his entertainment?
 
at the start of the year i was like o wow somebody is deffinatly gonna use TV On the Radio in a teaser, and sure enough, wolf like me is it, fuckin dope band
 
hey don't quote me on that ostness thing JD. when someone said that was for last year, it made me realize that I can't even tell the past tow years apart. I would be interested in Missile telling us what ostness is doing or how he knows hes not working for msp. I'm not 100% sure if he is or not.

and yes, i am very rarely wrong. haha
