New lift at fernie

so, not sure if everyone knows yet or not. the rumor mill is strong with talks of Fernie putting a lift up polar peak.

based on the comments below the article, they have started construction and the lift is a go. As to when it will be completed, and if it will be open to the public is still unknown. You can pretty much count on the Lizard Headwall remaining closed for the foreseeable future, but either way - this is very good news for Fernie.

such awesome news! this is fueling my decision to bum in fernie this season. i heard its unlikely that it'll be open to public
 
I heard this as well... and seeing how secretive Fernie is being about this whole thing, leads me to believe that they are thinking the same thing.
 
yeah, a few of my friends have seen the tower places marked and apparently chairs got delivered somewhere recently, gonna be such a rad winter!
 
it better be open to the public if they are pushing it this hard.
Headwall will probably still be permanently closed though but it will be so close
