New lift at bogus possibley?

From what I've heard this is pretty much guaranteed to happen this summer. Chair 3 will be a quad next season

looks like there will be another backside quad next year. hope they keep night skiing on it.
 
bogus is just like all us lazing fucking kids in boise, asking for donations to make a lift? in not one of the best places either, they need new management or else the entire place will always be a shit show, maybe they could have ski patrol that could actually ski down to save you
 
i dont get why they dont put the new quad somewhere else like the face. then theyd have two lifts instead of just replacing one. you think theyd put superior chair somewhere else but they definitely wont, cause when they replaced chair 6 years ago they just got rid of it?

most not for profit areas have to run campaigns and fundraisers for major renovations or development (ie. a new lift). if you knew that then you shouldn't have said something so dumb.
 
Oh and I also heard through the grapevines that they are replacing chair 2 with a quad either this summer or next. Its a surprise though.

Technically the Tamarack Homeowners suck at finances seeing as there really isn't a Tamarack in the moment, and the bank could still hold the resort for 3 more years. shits nutz

and how would you know if bogus profits or not unless you manage their finances?
 
you know they must be in the green is they are purposing a new lift. If they were in the red they would be like "Donate to keep bogus open!!!!1"
 
Couple of things:
1. Tamarack was based entirely on the real estate at the base of the mountain during the housing bubble. Housing bubble pops=recession + tamarack going bankrupt because they're entire initial investments were based on that land and homes selling.
2. From my understanding of the way Bogus leases their land, they could pay extra on their insurance in order to stay open longer. However, they have to make that decision before the start of the year and are unwilling to do so because of the risk if they don't have the snow at the end of the season. Brundage has the nads to do it and therefore stays open longer.
3. A new lift instead of Superior will be nice, it's a good zone to ski but I never did because that lift takes so fucking long. I will agree though that it was a good place to go if you wanted to slow things down.
All in all, Bogus getting a newer lift isn't a bad thing. Yes, I agree, it would be awesome if they would just lease new land and put the lift there, but let's face it, Bogus just doesn't have the financial backing to do something like that.
 
because people in my family do. bogus is scraping by year in and year out. all profit outside of a 'rainy day fund' are required to put back into the resort.
if the money was there, the pubic would see it in the resort.

im glad bogus is doing something new. maybe itll bring more people, and more money, and lead to better things.
 
The Wildwood lift definitely has not been removed yet. It's sitting there waiting for removal by Bancorp of America. The homeowners, of course, are doing everything that they can to block permitting for the removal--the place is more attractive to buyers intact. Whatever lift is going in at Bogus is most definitely not Wildwood. Wildwood is a Leitner Poma lift. If Bogus is adding a lift, it would be a Doppelmayr CTEC. Also, the Tamarack homeowners do not suck at finances. They ran a very streamlined operation this past year and it worked. They, from what I heard, essentially broke even. Which isn't bad at all for any resort. Plus the homeowners are running the place again in 2012, meaning that it couldn't have been that bad. In fact, I would argue that the homeowners are better at managing their finances than JP Boespflug and Miguel. Honestly.
 
I got told by someone who would know that it takes exactly 4 fucking minutes and twenty seconds load to unload.
