New lake on the Valdez, AK road

This shit is pretty crazy, huge avalanche happened and made a major ice dam on the road.

Estimated at like 60 feet deep, its a huge amount of water.

Yea I'm pretty sure they knew it was going to slide, thus why they helped it with 300lbs of explosives dropped from the heli. I don't think they expected the lake to form though..

Saw it on the news yesterday. I guess they're flying in food and supplies to the people stuck on the other side. I guess it slides every year but this is obviously a big one.

in a weird way its pretty awesome that nature can take back its land so quickly. Just like that, what was once a human made and controlled road is 50 feet under water and snow. Like we never even mattered.
