New Juitar or New Jacket!!!

my guitar is worth a lot more than my jacket. granted i got my jacket for free but still, if i had paid for it. Your guitar ability is very important in this. i'm assuming you're talking like 300 for a jacket/guitar. do you play? how long?

i have around 300 bucks, which is enough for a nice jacket or decent acoustic guitar.and i have been playing for about 10 months

watch on tramdock.com, whiskeymilitia.com, and brociety.com fer amazing deals on jackets, like no joke up to 80% off. then youll still have some money left fer a giutar and you could have both

uhh get both go for a guitar thats a little bit cheaper. u shouldn't be spending that much on a jacket

Are you just the guitar thread troll?

On topic: I'd go with the guitar. A jacket you'll out grow, or at least get a new one soon. A guitar you can keep for your whole life.

my vote goes to the guitar. It will last longer, sound better, aaaand get you girls if you serenade them out of there pantelones. And I know you can do it son, I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT

$300 guitar = not really worth it.

if you're going for a decent acoustic, id save up the extra couple hundo and get a Martin. playing one is a lifechanging experience, and a $300 guitar's tone will only frustrate you as you move on, either that or you'll end up replacing it as it is.

if you don't feel like saving, go for it and blow the cash on a jacket, but if you're looking for an acoustic, DEFINITELY at least give a serious look at a martin, i have yet to play a superior acoustic guitar

$300 isnt enough for a good sounding guitar. either go with the jacket or save up $200 more and get a worthwhile guitar.

have you ever played a breedlove?

have you ever played a laravee?

the highest end breedlove completely smokes a high end martin. completely. and laravee makes the best acoustic guitars on the face of the planet..

OP: My guitars cost 900+... and my SAGA was $125, so i am kind of finding it hard to compare. but I agree that a $300 guitar isn't going to be a super good purchase.. It will be worth it to put out at least $500.

a good jacket from bc outlet or brociety/whiskey/TD could run you under 100... spend a thrifty amount on a jacket, and then save up and take a look at a few pricier guitars. play a few different shapes and brands, my recomendation going to Breedlove. also, bring cash, instead of a card or check, to guitar center and most of the salesmen will be willing to work the price down to a much more agreeable figure.

Get the guitar bro. There are plenty of acoustics that are sick in that price range. One of my favorite guitars I've ever played was a $350 Alvarez. Just go to a huge store, walk around, and play every acoustic. One of them is going to have that buttery smooth fretboard coupled with awesome intonation. IMO shopping for an acoustic is not like shopping for an electric, there is that one guitar that you can find that will just be amazing, and price doesn't always have too much to do with it. Sure, I like my $700 Epiphone better than my $70 off brand classical guitar and my buddy's $3000+ Les Paul plays a lot better than his $125 squire strat, but I don't know, with acoustic guitars there is more feel and personality to it I think. Its just about finding one that is right for you, and it could really be any price.
PROTIP: Don't buy online just because it is cheaper. Find it online for cheap, print out the page, then bring it in to your local music shop. Lots of places will match the price, and you'll actually get to try it out, and support a local business.

i like the touch of a breedlove much more than a taylor, and in general, a find that breedlove makes a much better guitar.

but higher end taylors are sweeeet heaven. nothing like a laravee, but much better than a martin.

Pretty much. I think my Almanca Acoustic cost around $600, and it sounds incredible. So if you're going for a guitar save up the money and get something better.

I was totally gonna do the same; i learned to play on a very old and beat up second hand epiphone electric guitar that i got for free from my uncle. It had a crooked neck so i repaired the crooked neck and installed a second hand humbucker pickup on it... It sounds delicious!
This year i decided to either get new skis or invest in a good acoustic guitar since i have a tendency to play acoustic songs on my electric guitar...
budget was 400euro (500dollar+) when i was in the store i played all guitars under 400 and they all sounded like shit when compared to the quality my old epiphone produced...
so i returned home; looked online and got a pair of movement joystick skis + rossignol scratches both with look PX18 bindings for 200 euro (second hand) !
so, my advice; go play some guitars and decide for yourself, i personally didn't find a decent sounding guitar and decided to go for the skis...But maybe if you're lucky you can find excellent second hand guitars that are 10x better than what you get in the shop...
