New 'Joker' Massacre Thwarted By Maryland Cops

One week after Colorado's movie theater shooting, Maryland cops arrested a heavily armed man who told his employer he was a "joker" who was going to "blow everybody up."

Police said today they believe they "thwarted a massacre."

The suspect, identified as Neil Edwin Prescott

in a court document obtained by ABC News, was being dismissed from his

job. He made threatening statements to his supervisor at least twice on

Monday, police said.

Prescott had an arsenal of about 25 firearms at his residence, including

semi-automatic rifles, shotguns and handguns, according to a police

affidavit. Police said he also had high powered scopes and magazines and

thousands of rounds of ammunition in "40 large steel boxes."

He was quoted as telling his employer, "I am a joker, I'm going to load my guns and blow everybody up," police said.

It doesn't take that much awareness to report someone to the police that made a threat multiple times to kill everyone at your work, just after he was fired...

And it also doesn't take that much effort for the police to go and check this guy out...
 
in no way should they claim they prevented a massacre. He said he wanted to see his boss dead. Killin one bro aint a massacre. And surely nobody believes he was actually going to blow up everybody, all 7 billion of us
 
I dont think he was discrediting them, but lets get real, this wasnt a 6 month investigation with CIs and wire taps. It was a boss doing what he should do to keep his people safe.

Good work all around, shit could have been nasty. Sadly, this may not be the last time the joker goes off!

You don't hoard 25 guns and 40 steel ammo boxes to kill one person. "Massacre" is going and shooting up your work, including your boss, for having you fired for being a fucking lunatic. Which was his exact intentions.

i hate to be a skeptic here, but aurora happens, everyones on alert, then cops come out with a saving the world story like this and everyone calms down.

i just dont know HOW much i beleave in the media.

I know people with 25+ guns, doesnt mean they are going to go on a massacre. Just saying, guns dont kill people, people kill people.
 
Most people don't collect guns and ammunition to hurt everyone, but most people also don't reference recent massacres and talk about killing their boss after being fired. This combined with all the guns and shit makes it seem like he wanted to go on a killing spree at his workplace or something... V
 
Yes because he was talking about his boss and then instead of referencing the rest of the people at his work from which he was just fired from, he meant everybody else in the whole world.

He never said everyone that collects that many guns and ammunition has the intention to cause a massacre. He said that if someone has that many guns and makes threats to kill his boss and everyone else, that he's probably, most likely, planning to kill a lot of people.

i own a extensive library of NES games.

One time, my brother took my bike without asking, and i told him that if he did that again, i would choke him to death with the NES controller cable.

now, i have many controllers, plenty of which have perfect cables for death choking, but does that mean im going to, even though i clearly have the means to?

Pretty sure that is an alias. They use it to either troll the fuck outta people for a few good laughs. Or are just too big of a pussy to post their actual views on their normal account. HOLY SHIT THIS GUY LIVES LESS THAN AN HOUR AWAY FROM ME. not saying i was in danger of him but when something happens as far away from me as CO it just seems like crazy random events in some distant place ill never go. but damn, this shits scary.
