New ipod needs windows Vista or XP with SP3 or higher?

So after replacing four hard drives, a screen, and two logic boards I'm finally done continually fixing my iPod. I looked at the system specs for a PC and it says

[*]Windows Vista or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later

[*]iTunes 9 or later

I have windows XP hope with SP2.... does that mean the iPod won't work with my computer? What the fuck?

Just download sp3, problem solved. (if there is a problem.. it will possibly work with sp2 anyway)

SP3 is better than SP2 anyway so just go ahead and download it.

I didn't know SP3 was a free update, I thought it was something I had to purchase. I'm surprised my computer didn't install it as an automatic update.

And whoever said it'll probably work with SP2, it doesn't.
