New helmet cam option, gonna take the lead over gopro?

The drift innovation hd170 is very similar to the other high end helmet cams on the market right now, 1080p video, very durable, right around $300. But there are two major things that lead me to think this might be a big hit come this winter. A built on lcd screen to view your shots, and a wrist strap remote to start/stop your recording. Priced at $330 US(includes mounts), I think this is a very good option. Only weighs 6 grams more then the gopro also. Here are some pictures(borrowed from engadget)

Wow, that is really nice. The LCD to view your foootage is going to be the key point over GoPro, can't wait to see some footage out of it. The remote controls are an added convenience as well

if you check the review on engadget, there is a video comparison to video from this and the gopro

yeah, I posted before I checked out the review. After reading the entire thing I don't see it really taking off like the gopro did. They even put it in third place in the trio of cameras being compared.

As a cam for skiing mountain biking only, it might give the gopro a run for the money. But it's only waterproof down to 0,5' which, with the way I have been using my gopro, would be a no-go.. I can also imagine that mounting the cam to the goggle strap with a 170 degree view would look pretty retarded. Wouldn't a third of the picture be the side of your head? (atleast if it's mounted as far back as on the pic above..)

i think it looks really nice, and i also think the lcd screen and remote will help it take the lead over the gorpro oh and i didn't read the review but is it as stong as the gopro? (waterproof, shock ect)

i dig the go pro, i wish it had the remote, but i can live without the lcd. seems like the lcd is just something extra that can break alot more easily than not having one.

First off, im sure go pro has new features coming out, and ive seen a few 1080p cams that still suck, go pro has crisp footy, and its more well known.

yea the only cool thing about that cam is the lcd screen and th remote. i still think the gopro is the best
