just bought these: akg k121. for home studio. i recommend those to anyone that want to have a entry level headphones for approx. 170$

well it is not a waste at all. i tought the same but when i tried it omg, i was literally blown away by the quality
 
just bought this: ferrari F430. for home track. i recommend those to anyone that want to have a entry level race car for approx. 180,000$

those akg's are a great entry level headphone, props on making this thread. somebody stole my Pioneer HDJ 2000s on saturday night, so I think I may be getting the new aiaiai TMA-1s for playing out.
 
that's quite alot of money, for 170$ you have a beyer dynamics dt770 closed cup headphone that's without a doubt alot better than that AKG....^^dt770 are usually the professional headphones you see in radio studios, recording studios, or the single ear model being worn by professional AV crews...
however, i too have an AKG for daily use, i have the AKG k518 dj that also has exquisite soundquality, still looks hip and trendy and only costs 60$
so for professional use in recording studios, get a Beyer Dynamics DT770^^seriously, for that money there isn't a single headphone that comes anywhere near the DT770's soundquality
and for daily/recreational use, akg k518

well i tried like 10 headphones at the shop and they didnt have the dt770 :( so i took the best sound for the price that i had.....
 
yeah, that's a shame they didn't have any Beyer dynamics,
they close out surrounding sounds almost completely and they have a very fine sound spectrum, both high and low tones are crispy clear :)
whereas your AKG might sound fine as well it will never cancel out surrounding noises like the DT770 does ...
but anyways, you have a fine headphone, and i'm sure you're gonna enjoy it! :)
 
Well then check out these cars, they are sick as hell and only $100,000. I personally have the black one.

if you didn't see the article I posted up here a week or two ago about the low-end headphone market, these are clones of every other headphone that looks like this, like the skullcandy T.I., aka shit headphones.
