New Freestyle Program

I've been asked to put together and head up a freestyle program at Cranmore, NH next winter. This is gonna be geared towards younger, beggining freeride kids. I hafta write up a detailed summary of what I'm gonna teach these kids, so I needs some advice. From beggining jumpers to inverts........any drills? points? advice?

Don't worry about a thing beacuse your path is true, just ease yoru mind have a bananna or two
 
start with basic grabs, then move up to spins, spins w/ grabs, then maybe work on the tramp or water ramps for inverts , sorry if this didnt help, just remember to keep it fun and not to regimented(i dont know what it means but sounds cool and makes me look smart) tr.v. reg·i·ment·ed, reg·i·ment·ing, reg·i·ments (rj-mnt)

now i do know and now i look really realy smart- please note i made that up myself

 
our mountain had a freeride team last season, and it didnt work because:

most kids didnt show up

the skieres new more about tricks than the coach

and it just didnt work out

STEP ONE... GET ON A REAL MOUNTAIN INSTEAD OF CRANMORE... IT BLOWS!!!!!!!!!!! sorry... just dislike the mountain... a lot.

ice rider shut up. you have to start somewhere. even though cranmore is not the best mountain there are still kids who ski there that want to learn how to go off jumps, and they should be able to get instruction if they want.

and for whoever made this thread just tell them you'll be guiding the kids step by step on how to do park. starting with saftey in the park, then getting air of small kickers, doing tricks off small kickers, then medium, then large...so on and so forht..

 
u should umm have that colin kid help u cause its the only fuckin way hes goin back to cranmore

but yea park safety first

then park edicut, who go's basic politeness and such

then tricks as the other kid suggested

grabs spins combos

if theyll let u, u can use my tramp to let them learn

but please god let me help i dont want to work at the tubing park again...................

 
oh and also practice skiing switch with them, just like teaching normal go in the line and teach them some lingo.....find which way they spin if u get that far

ask your bro some things that he did at ski camp and maybe use thoes

 
probably a given, but make them wear helmets.

I was on a freeride team this year ans it was sweet. we learned tons becuase we had eric hjorleifson who taught us to jump, kevin htertaas who taught us how to rip big mountaina and guy mobray who taught us how to ski right. just make sure its relaxed and not like a racing program, make it fun

 
also teach them unnatural spins too.

and whoever said you did'nt learn anything doing these lessons is wrong. simon dumont is on the sunday river one of these, and even though he is better than the coach the coach watches what he does and makes suggestions for improvement, helps you get better style.
