New Freestyle Powder skis?

Hello. I am 5’7 and around 120 pounds. I’m 17 in August and I’m looking for a new pair of freestyle powder skis. I have been injured for the past couple of years and before that I ride 4FRNT YLE Coyotes (157). They were great but they will obviously be too small now. I like smaller skis in general, length wise and I’m an advanced skier. I would like something like the coyotes which are powder skis but also allow me to flip and do tricks in them. I’m kind of in between kids and adult sizes which makes it kind of difficult. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Armada arv 116. 174 I beleive is the size. I have the 185 and they're dope. Bought them recently and didn't get too many days on them but from what I've seen and heard they're a good choice.
 
If you're 5'7" you're not between kids and adult sizes. Kids sizes top out at like 155. You're 170cm tall, and pow skis should be taller than you because they're usually heavily rockered. A true pow ski would be high 170s for you, but since you say you want to do tricks you probably want a fat all mountain ski that is less directional, so low-mid 170s is what you want. Kartel 108 is a great ski
 
up the length to at least your height 170cm (or more if rockered). Pick up some nice full rocker or tip-tail rocker twins, doesn't really matter what brand, aim for at least 97 underfoot.

Bentchetler 120, CT 4.0, ARV 116, K2 Catamaran. skied on all those and own a pair of Cats, can confirm they are all rad options

Thanks. What does underfoot mean? Sorry I’m very uneducated on the ‘stats’ of the skis

wisth of your skis in cm right under your feet. its commonly posted as tip / underfoot / tail so youre going to see 3 numbers. eg 110 97 106

Ok perfect, my YLEs were 128 110 128 so that makes sense

Does the radius of the ski matter?

If a ski is directional, it is designed to ski only forwards and not spin. The more directional a ski is, the less symmetrical it will be and the farther back it will be mounted. Pow skis are generally more directional. A twin tip is what most would refer to a non-directional ski by. You will have a harder time doing tricks with a directional ski, though I would advise against getting a ski that is mounted too close to center if you want to ski pow and the whole mountain. About -4 cm is probably what you want

So like a freestyle ski would be something like -6?... or -2?...

Good question, I ski out of Whitewater which is basically pow town 24/7 so i've got a good grasp on some sick pow skis. A couple good options are the 4frnt hoji if you want to send fucking fat in pow this is the ski to go for and despite being flat tail they have so much rocker you can land switch no problem, the Head Kore's will rip pow like nobody's business and charge shit fuck conditions without the slightest issue making them an amazing all mountain ski. One of my personal favourites, albeit a bit obscure is the Hick Sticks made by Smart Skis, they are a full wood ski with wood edges and a surf base, however they've started making them with regular bases and metal edges if that's what you want. These things are legit the best time I've ever had in powder, incredibly light and stiff at the same time, I've got multiple videos with them on my instagram if you want to see how they ski.

Find something like an Old 4frnt YLE, Atomic Bentchetler, Kartel 108, ARV 106/116, or maybe even a Moment Deathiwsh if the shape is desirable. Id try and find something with 106-120 underfoot, but depends soley on where you ski (what mountain), where on the mountain you ski (trees with light dusting, deep pow days, chunder, groomers, etc.
 
I'm 5'4 and ride 163cm all around, sometimes 170cm. Demo or rent longer skis to get feel of it b4 buying if youre hesistant on going for longer skis.

Mid Range Devy's around 2000g. its on there website but you would have to check for yourself

I looked really quickly earlier and totally missed it but checking now reveals the 184 is a mere 2100g, 174 coming in at 1875 so while not pushing the envelope for lightness certainly not heavy at all. Going from memory I thought the older models were in the 2500-2600 ballpark and did quick math to come up with my estimate.

took a look, they used beech to get the weight down and im interested to see how it'll affect durability, stability etc.

Ya true, but sadly most of those skis are too big. Especially the YLEs which I’m really sad about cause I would love to be able to get another pair

True, I have never seen any demos on my mountain though
