NEW FORMAT FOR THE FORUM

Does everyone like this forum format. I used to love it but lately the posts get so big and rehash the same ideas so many times that it hard to keep up. The poorboy forum has it where you can see the title of what the replys are so you can deside if you are interested or not. Just wondering. Also anyone heard anything about LINE boots. Never seen anyone ride these and the look like a Raichle rip off.

 
maybe if you clicked on the forum title once and then the message titles would appear, that would be cool but i dont mind the way it is right now.

this should be in the site discussion forum, there is already a post about Line's boots, and i like how the forum is right now. keep it like this.

I agree with Darryl. The other format like the Line forum is way too cluttered, and you end up having to scroll side to side to be able to see all the posts.

Not that Matt would change it anyway.

the PBP forum takes so long to see anything. even with ADSL. takes like 40 seconds to press BACK to go to the last page in the forum

I will NEVER change the forum into Poorboy's format. That is the most archaic, old-school, cluttered, (etc) forum ever and the crappiness of that forum was one of the motivations for me to make a this forum. heh.. yeah, so no way.

A couple things I WOULD like to do however is make it so that it shows you what forum category you're in, and it shows the subject of the thread you're in... that's a little change, but sometimes I can't remember which thread/category I'm in.. anyways... yeah, changing this forum to look like the poorboys forum will never ever ever happen.

how about for every 75 0r 100 messages, it starts a new page. i have dsl and the hottest jibber thread takes about 1-2min to load, because of the 500+ posts

There are two reasons the hottest jibber forum takes so long:

1) It's over 100K of text, and the pictures are fairly big.

2) My script opens almost 600 files and formats the content in each before displaying it.

The later of the two will be taken care of shortly. I COULD split up the big threads, but then there's a new dilemna:

Do I make the NEWEST post show at the TOP of the page? If not, then every time you wanted to read the new posts, you'd have to click on page 2 or 3 or whatever... but, if the posts showed in reverse, people would have to read threads backwords if they hadn't seen them before.. reading from bottom to top is unnatural..
