New Final Cut

Do you guys know how to do a lens flare effect in final cut? its in the beginning of this edit.

Also, what do you guys think about the new final cut? Worth getting? I've heard mixed feedback.
 
Its actually called a film burn. They are the most commonly used transition and I suggest you not use them or certain people here will become enraged.
 
But the new final cut actually looks awesome! Not much of an editor but makes me wanna really get into it
 
as a professional program i've heard bad things about it, but i haven't used it.

and yeah that effect is called film burn. PM me and i will give you my entire collection of them. they are commonly used, but i use them all the time and think they are sick when used well. but yes, some people on NS really, really hate them. it's just a matter of taste.
 
That was such a sick edit. And yeah film burns look good when they're used properly. I don't really care if they're overused.

Interpret that however you want. If you're a consumer, its probably going to be cool. If you're a pro, uh-uh.
 
Just assuming but it kinda seems like its just a shitty 300$ upgrade of imovie. Seems cool but when imovie is free its just not worth it.
 
My goodness, the follow cams in this are epic, makes me want to try out some inlines. As far as a film burn, I don't see why so many people dislike it, I think it makes the edit much more interesting to watch.
