New Era of Contest

I think it would be cool to have different types of contests than what we are seeing now. Don't get me wrong, I think xgames, dew tour, and the world cup contests are cool. But, I think certain new contests would be great. Here are a couple of ideas:

Slopestyle with Rails only - Slopestyle with jumps only - Slopestyle with 4 rail sections and 1 jump or 4 jumps and one rail.

I also think pushing the athletes on a different level would be interesting. so a endurance type of slopestyle - 10-12 features in a row mixing it up between slideable features and jumps.

I also like the idea of no doubles or triples in a slopestyle or big air - not that i dont like doubles or triples, i just think it would be a cool change. Maybe you could do this the way JOI used to do it....720 contest, 900 contest, or 540 contest, and of course...the ever popular old school contest.

What do you mafuckas think?

All your ideas suck or they've already done it.

Slopestyle with only rails is called a rail jam.

Slopestyle with only jumps is called a big air contest.

Slopestyle with a disproportional amount of jumps v. rails is called a shitty course.

I really wish you had a handful of pills to swallow right now.

Rail Jam is a jam format.

Big Air contest is one jump.

Disproportional amount jumps vs rails is something new and different. Many terrain parks are not exactly proportional and doesn't mean they are shitty.

Thanks for the input.

I think these two ideas have some merit -- the first one just b/c it'd be awesome to watch a slope course that's three times as big as the norm.

Yes, I think it would be awesome too. I am really getting these other ideas from awesome edits of top to bottom runs. Like a top to bottom rail line or top to bottom jump line.

endurance is a sick idea. 5 tight rails together.. 1 or two big jumps... another rail pack... 1 or two more big jumps.

Back in the day Mount Snow, VT had a big air competition that was two jumps.

Just saying.

same with JOI back in the day... it was fucking sick -- especially considering the mirrored dubs and shit we'd get to see nowadays
