New Edit Check it SON

less than constructive...

nice edit i enjoyed some of the wide angles when the rider traveled across the whole fame. great bike riding!

couple tips.

eheath is right. too much fisheye, and used when it wasnt really necessary. the whole advantage of the fisheye is in lines or places where you really dont have room for longer shots.

a little steadier of a cam, some of your shots are a little bouncy. get a tripod for cheap somewhere.

turn down the sound from the biking, and up the music. you could barely here it.

keep at it though, like anything the more you film/edit, the better youll get.

I wasn;t even far away with the fish it makes it look really far & that is the first time using it and it was a short edit so I wanted to use it alot

constructive critisism works alot better if you accept it and don't try to defend every point that is made.

Definitely turn the music up. I would keep any of the Bike/speaking out if the background unless it was a banger trick and you added in the OHHHH!!!!

I even put the park noise down to 0.7 and the music to 1.3 in this one and all the others I left at 1.0 for both this is wierd must have been a quiet song

agreed, but i understand that it can be a bitch to have to screw or unscrew it every 5 seconds. overall nice, couple shots coulda been trimmed

a little slow paced at some points

i thought the use of the fisheye was effective and didn't bug me at all,

and i agree that you should cut or turn down the original sound and turn up the music, i could barely hear it. and the camera shake wasn't too bad, but a tripod would make the edit look better.

nice angles, and good filming overall, and the bikers were legit.

thats why if you wanna film fish you film fish and then take it off and film LL. there wasnt one LL shot in this. try to keep things more ballanced. the clips didnt change on beat to the music and that is pretty important. try and add some cross fades or something because all your trannys were really jumpy and boring. if your filming fish you usually want to get low and shoot up. and use you should read up on the rule of thirds. they help a lot. and ya agreed to everyone else with the "OHHS" really annoying and inneeded so just cut them out unless its a banger or something

I couldn;t really edit all that well as in the preview the AVCHD played so chopily, on my old comp with 4gb dual core, but now I got 8gb quad core and a better video card so the next one should actually have some editing not just myself putting the clips in a random order and then slapping some music on

personally I hate fisheye, but if you're going to use it, get dirty and REAL close. The editing was nothing fancy; this isn't a bad thing because I didn't notice the editing, which should be the goal. That being said, the bmx riding is good, but not amazing. To make it more interesting, I would use more interesting/creative shots. Put the camera in different places, places you've never seen a camera put and just try it out. If you're just doing a 1 camera shoot, you can use a match edit and cut together a different take off and landing and make it look smooth. Exposure and focus are another area you can improve on. Not sure what you're shooting with, or your level of experience.

Whenever you make something and put it out there for someone to see, you're already taking a step beyond what most people do. Once it's out there and you start to get feedback from it, take it all with a grain of salt. Sometimes you'll get a legit critique of something you did "wrong" but if its exactly what you intended, then you have nothing to defend. Take the criticism you receive and put it in the back of your mind, so the next time you're out shooting you at least have something new to try.
