Hey, im buying a used dslr and i need some help deciding which one to choose, i am suck between a canon rebel xt, canon 20d and a sony alpha - a100, most people have told me to get cannon because they have more lenses compatable, but the sony is cheaper, and has more mega pixles, so what would be a better choice?

I will be shooting skiing, and a lot of landscape type shots.

+k for help

sorry for the dub post, but just incase it matters i am not new to slrs, im just making the switch from my 35mm to digital. Also i am leaning twords the sony for sure, cus it has more MPs and is alot cheaper, but if you think the canon would be better let me know why for sure.

Thanks,

James

also i will almost allways be shooting in full manual mode, if that makes a difference.

thanks.

and what about a nikon d60?

and would a sigma lens fit a nikon? I think they are both AF mounts, but i would like to know for sure, and the sigma lens is for my SA-7n and for either a nikon d60 or d40x.

thanks for help

Sigma Makes all their lenses in a bunch of different lens mounts (canon, Nikon etc) Personally I would stay away from the rebel/ lower end nikons. You can pick up a used 20d or nikon d70 for cheap. Earlier you said the sony has more mega pixels. Unless you plan on printing on the side of a building that number is more or less irrelevant. Actually cramming more pixels in a smaller area tends to give you more noise in your photos. anyway I hope thats helpful if you need any more help just PM me.

the d60 is my old body and i have a sigma 70-300mm lens. its a DG fit. i couldnt be happier with that setup
