New Causwell Site is up!

straight from causwell's blog:

"Time for a quick update about what's going on over here at Causwell. The last six months, the brand has seen a complete overhaul. New direction, new ideals, new product and collectively, a new mindset. Stopping and starting completely over from scratch. Not a lot has been publicized or promoted the last few months because, to be honest, we were trying to figure out where to take the brand ourselves. We wanted to make sure we could wake up each morning and be excited and proud of the product and the brand itself. We threw all industry timelines and expectations out the window and decided to make stuff we'd wear year after year, classic colors, simple-minimal branding with modern fits. Stuff that you keep for years or pass on to a friend or family member rather than drop at the thrift store or sell on a chat room. We are excited again. So with that being said, we are expecting an extremely limited delivery of Causwell goods around November 1st that will be available only at our Causwell Concept Store in SLC and a couple select retailers. We will be photographing product, building lookbooks and a new website as quickly as possible. Starting this week we will do updates every few days until the goods are ready to go live. Thanks a lot for the continued support as we work through this learning curve."

So stoked on the Mountain Division. Really happy they made outerwear that caters to us PNW skiers who ski in the rain everyday. If you want to look like a skittle, buy something else and quit complaining!

I believe you're referring to last years reasons jacket and I agree that was a hideous jacket. I don't think people here are exactly looking to look like a skittle but rather are thinking the following:1. Annoyed that they went a completely different direction

2. Extremely limited color options

3. Site layout is terrible

4. Noticed pictures of the products are strenuous to look through and some of it seems to barely even represent the product

5. Were expecting more hoodies

All in all it seemed like a pretty big build up for so many changes in the company and when they are going this direction as radically as they are it's hard to support them. I understand that they had difficulties and many setbacks and I'm not criticizing them for that, however I would have liked to see some different product come out of this.

They only have the Kessler in stock right now. $270

XL zipper length is about 35 inches.

"other colorways next season, and what you see is whats in the line. We're designing some park oriented/lifestyle hoodies right now

we're just taking a different approach. Give it a bit and you'll see what we're doing. We have some tricks up our sleeves"

"the reed flannel fits super long"

-from Causwell

Although they will have the mustard yellow and blue mineral jacket/pant this season.

Can someone call and ask about the price and sizing of the jackets and pants? I would do it myself but I am in the wrong side of the world and lack long distance calling to make it.

If they make more stuff like the mineral, more technical outerwear, 20k/20k super functional shells, stuff like that. I'd buy it in a heart beat

I like the stuff a lot. Don't need a coat this year but I definitely would be stuff from them with this new line

Teeech. Looks nice, I like the looks of the hoodie a lot. All the gear looks really usable for those wetter deep snow days.

HOW DO I ORDER CAUSWELL SHIT!! ive tried calling them like 20 times and left like 4 messages and i never get a response

some cool stuff, especially that ninjaclava, but like other people said, the site is terrible and you can't order the stuff anywhere online? come on now...

sounds and looks like they have a LOT of potential.

they really need to work on that website/ordering process though

Causwell's new line is a 100% improvement over last years stuff. Tech fabric with a slim fit and modest design is exactly what this industry needed; other performance outerwear manufacturers have their niche: Arcteryx fits short/wide and TREW stuff is flamboyant. Causwell stuff is baggy enough to allow movement but fitted enough to look like you graduated high school. Plus there's the added bonus of being able to ski in pouring rain and not having to worry about getting wet.

I should stress that Causwell is about quality over quantity. It's better to produce two great jackets than five bad ones (what good is it being able to select from five jackets when the ONE you buy can't keep you dry?). If you are looking for cheap outerwear with flashy designs and bad fabric, look elsewhere. If you want outerwear that you can rely on in the harshest conditions imaginable year after year, the Mountain Division line will serve you well. Keep in mind they're in the early stages right now, so give them some time. This is just a sample of what's to come.

If you have any questions or want to order, call the shop and spread some yo's. If they don't answer, they're either busy with a customer or its a pow day.

anyone have advice on sizing for the mineral jacket and guide vest? im 5 10, 155lbs, and im looking for the vest to be pretty slim fitting, just a little loose, but i dont want it to be short. im thinking medium or large, id go with large if it the fit get longer rather than wider as it goes up.

pretty much the same with the massif, but i would be more willing to go a little baggier with that.

hmm now that i think about it, causwell makes xxl for some reason i thought xl was the biggest and i know that he doesnt wear the biggest. my b.

Well this year their biggest size is XL. The Kessler has about a 35 inch zipper length.

I wish I knew what the Mineral Jacket looked like. Love to pick something up, and it sounds quality, but I'm not going to buy anything without actually seeing what it looks like, and the website isn't showing me anything. Not to mention the other colorways.....

I don't know how much more deliberate product photos can get?

I'm 5'8" 150 lbs and I use the medium Guide Vest. It fits perfect; not baggy, not tight. Hayden is the same height as me and on the website he's wearing the medium. Hope that helps!

Just got the Kessler Jacket and Reasons Pant in XL.

Zipper measures 36in, but there is another inch of jacket. So 37in total.

Quality is really nice. Stoked on this stuff!
