New Camera Ideas

I am looking for a beginner level dslr camera and I want to know what some people think about the Nikon d5100 or d7000. I would also like to know if you think it would be better to get a body and then a lens separate. Any ideas will help I am open to anything. K+ for good feedback

-Price line anywhere from $500-$1000 for camera and lens- Filming for sports mostly action sports

- some prier experience with dslr

- I have no good camera equipment only a crapy tri-pod and a sony bloogie and a gopro2

you don't need a dslr for filming, get a nice camcorder for the same price and you'll produce better footage with it

INB4 you can't get a solid DSLR video setup for under $1500, and thats a little low.

Just buy a T2i body and a nice piece of glass. That should keep you occupied for a few years.

I think adding a decent tripod to that,some sort of external sound recording device, and a few pieces of glass will get you through a few years.
