New boots?

thinking of getting some new boots. im 5 11ish, about 150-155 pounds. basically ive outgrown my old boots which were heads with a 80 flex, not a high performance boot. ive tried on full tilts with 99mm last and they felt too tight and spk pros, which felt great apart from a slight pressure below the bottom buckle, will this go after moulding? i also have got terrible shin bang which i know wont go completely with park boots but i really need it reduced, also some ankle bruising and back of the calf bruising. im thinking of getting the spk pros but also i have the possibilty of getting some of last years Spk kaos. basically i live in england so i ski pretty much all rails and very small jumps. when i go away to europe however i do a fair amount of powder, steeps and drops and hit some more sizable kickers.

so basically thinking about spk pro or last years spk kaos, considering i ski a variety of terrain and get bad shinbang and some calf bang and some pins and needles in the bottom of my feet( i dont have a footbed, would this help).

any help would be appreciated +K to those who do.

Yes sir get an insole. And go to a fitter and try on all the boots you can get your hands on. You don't need a specific park boot to do park, you need the boot that fits you the best. A fitted insole will help a lot with both foot pain and shin bang, it supports the arches in your foot, and holds the foot in place. This stops the foot from sliding forward and thus reducing shin bang.good luck with your quest young padawan

If you came from somthing like a head edge, you probably have quite a wide foot. The spk is going to work well for this, but it is quite low in the instep. Make sure you try with boot with a footbed as this will raise your instep, but is really usefull for a good fit. There are ways to strech the instep, such as molding the liner with foam on teh foot, or actually streching the shell above the instep. Really the only person who can tell you if there will be room above the instep is a bootfitter, looking at your foot on the footbed in the shell, without the liner.

If the instep is too tight in the spk, have a look at the atomic overlord. Similar fit and features to the spk, but with a higher instep.

ok thanks, i was looking at superfeets ski specific footbeds, any reviews on this? also do you think the spk pro would be better for me or a spk kaos? and of course i will go to a bootfitter one shop near me had the overlord but they have no bootfitter in there so i wont buy from there, the shop with the spk's have bootfitters.

The spk pro and koas, fit the smae, so if one is too tight the other will be too. Dont bother with superfeet footbeds. In England you can get a really good custom footbed for about £50 so just get a custom sidas, from ellis brigham. Where in the uk are you. If you can get to Milton Keynes, Covent Garden or castleford, they have the best bootfitters in the uk.

ok cheers i live in the south west so i will most likely buy from snow and rock which is really near me. they also have conformable custom motion tx's, ever heard of them? there more expensive. and i was just wondering on flexes like would a 110 flex be better for me then an 80 flex?

If you can get to a brighams its definatly worth it. The best shops will be at the snow domes, as the best staff want to ski so end up working there. Make a trip of it and go to MK for a shred and get your boots fitted.

Regarding flex theres no way of telling without seeing you in the boots really. Some people may want stiffer, I never ride in anything below 110 but I live in whistler we have real mountains here, so if you mainly ride in domes indoors, somthing like the SPK 90 could work.

ok thanks. the bootfitter is actaully real good and i think i may go with the spk pro because while i ski dryslope here with rails and stuff when i go to europe i ski sidecountry, coulours and stuff and decent jumps.
